Based on member feedback and implementing a new data management system later this year, we are simplifying our membership packages from multiple options under one membership package to one option per package. This has been confusing over the years and we are excited to simplify the options based on your feedback! This will also prepare us for the system conversion resulting in little to no interruptions for our members.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does this change go into effect?

March 1, 2016

Why did the memberships change?

Based on member feedback and implementing a new data management system later this year, we had the opportunity to simplify our memberships from multiple options under one membership package to one option per package. Having multiple options in one category has caused confusion and misunderstandings. Also, our new and improved online portal (coming soon) limits our ability to have these multiple layers. We are excited to simplify the options based on your feedback.

Why is the Child Guest Option no longer available?

To provide members with more flexibility, the unnamed guest option covers all ages. This will remove the restriction of the age range you can bring in under your guest option.

Why is there a $5 increase on the Individual membership?

The adult and child option was removed from the couple membership. With the child guest option being eliminated, this membership becomes an equal value to the couple membership with an unnamed guest.

Why is the ‘3 Adults and 2 Children’ option no longer available under the Family membership?

The option to name 3 adults is now under the Family Plus membership. This option allows our members more flexibility to bring additional kids without paying for add-a-guests.

Why do Family Plus memberships have to pay for a 4th named adult now?

Previously, members lost all children options when selecting four adults and had to pay for multiple guests to cover children. The revised Family Plus allows members to name a 4th adult without losing any children. The Family Plus membership will be the only membership that an additional named member can be added.

Why is Family Plus the only membership you can add an additional named member?

The Family Plus membership is the only membership that has allowed four named adults in the past. We want to ensure our Family Plus memberships do not lose that benefit.

Will these changes impact current memberships?

Members who renewed prior to February 29, 2016 will not be impacted. We will honor your current membership. NOTE: If you upgrade or downgrade your existing membership after March 1, it will be based on the new membership structure.

Why are membership cards not printed on-site anymore?

In addition to streamlining our memberships, we have revised some of our internal processes to ensure better customer service and shorter wait time in the offices. One temporary membership card will be issued if renewed at a BioPark Society Office. Your cashier receipt and on-line email confirmation will continue to act as your temporary membership cards.
