Job Purpose: Responsible for providing device, hardware and software configuration, administration and deployment in accordance with IT and University standards.

·  Support the Faculty or Service Management Team by coordinating and contributing to the provision of professional expertise and support ensuring that the service provides high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.

·  Organise, plan and prioritise own work activities, and the work of others where appropriate, to contribute to the achievement of Faculty or Service objectives and professional standards.

·  Respond positively to feedback by proactively reviewing processes, procedures and practices to ensure that the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders are met.

·  Work co-operatively and maintain effective relationships with others, internally and externally to the University, as appropriate to own area of responsibility.

Specific Responsibilities:

·  Be responsible for development of device and software configurations, administration, deployments of University devices and software packages.

·  Responsible for the resolution of escalated system and software problems and issues in close collaboration with other IT Services Teams.

·  Lead in the configuration of systems and software, determining appropriate on-going support requirements in conjunction with Desk Top support and Service Desk.

·  Lead in the planning and implementation of new device, software and system configurations.

·  Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational and technical procedures.

·  Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of software and systems.

·  Review capacity, performance and availability and other operational metrics, taking appropriate action to ensure corrective and proactive maintenance of device, software and system configuration.

·  Prepare and maintain operational and technical documentation for the configuration of new and amended devices, software and systems.

Education
15. / First degree or equivalent, preferably in a discipline relevant to the role or proven relevant professional experience. / E
