Assistant Site Supervisor (Part-time)

Hours: 9.00am – 3.00pm Monday – Friday, with 30 minutes lunch break term time only (27.5 hours per week)

Term-time only

Pay: Grade C Scale Point 14 (£15,882) actual pay £9,809pa

The post holder will support all aspects of security and cleaning, seeking to assist in the provision of a high level of security and safety for the pupils, employees, visitors, car park and property.

All members of school staff are expected to be a professional and active member of the school community working as part of the team to raise standards, improve outcomes and opportunities for all students and promote a lifelong love of learning.

Main duties and responsibilities

1.  To adhere to safeguarding protocols in order to have a clear and direct impact on pupils and staff.

2.  To patrol buildings and grounds to detect and prevent fire, illegal entry, property damage; to examine gates, doors and windows to ensure security on site.

3.  To work as part of the site team attending to minor repairs across the site, as requested by the Site Supervisors.

4.  To report daily to the Site Supervisors on security issues and identify and report building and equipment faults promptly.

5.  To maintain a litter-free environment on the fields, grounds and pathways surrounding then school buildings.

6.  To report to a senior member of staff any instances of pupils leaving the site without permission.

7.  To assist with the control of access to buildings and grounds as required, turning off unnecessary lights and locking areas when and if appropriate.

8.  To ensure that duties are undertaken in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with requirements under Health and Safety Regulations; established safe systems of work and school policies, procedures and practices.

9.  To promote the South Shore Academy image by providing an efficient service, including advice and directions to the visitors and the general public, in a pleasant and courteous manner.

10.  Maintain cleanliness and safety of the car park and footpaths e.g. in the event of ice or snow.

11.  Participate in training as required.
