Fund Raising Friday on 3rd July 2015.

This event -the first of its kind at Oaklands -is a day of fund raising for a chosen charity whose work has touched and will continue to impact onthe lives of many past and present students and staff at Oaklands: the Teenage Cancer Trust.

It involves a day of sponsored events, a grand raffle and a sponsored bag-pack on Saturday 4th July in our local Waitrose store. All proceeds will go to Teenage Cancer Trust.

How can you help?

All staff are invited to either sponsor or take part in any of the events. Raffle tickets will be on sale from reception, through the canteen and in the staff room. Counterfoils to be returned to finance please, the draw will take place on 3rd July in the afternoon. Prizes will be posted on the school website and include:

What will happen on the day?

Students will arrive on site at the usual time and proceed to their chosen event zone (see below). After being registered they will carry out their game or event all morning.

A team of journalists and photographers will record interviews and pictures throughout the eventsfor use on the website and in the summary presentation at the end of the morning.

At midday we break for lunch and students using the canteen can expect baked potatoes, sandwiches, pasta and baguettes. We will not offer sit-down cooked meals on this shortened day. Additionally at lunchtime students will be selling foodthey have created during the morning event and so will need to bring money for that too.

After lunch students will meet in the hall for a summary presentation and round-up of the events.

Studentsare free to leave early at 1.15pm. An SLT-runsession showing afilm willtake placein the main hall from 1320-1535 for those unable to secure an early transport home.
