Contest Rules for Peace FM and CHET TV

These rules apply to all contests operated by Peace FM at 94.5 CHET FM in Chetwynd and at 104.1 CHAD FM in Dawson Creek and on CHET TV on Channel 40 on cable, channel 55 live on-air and on Bell Channel 655.

These rules also apply to Peace FM/CHET TV branded contests or giveaways on www.peacefm.ca via Facebook or Twitter pages administered by the staff of the Chetwynd Communications Society.

You are eligible to enter and to win prizes if you are over the age of majority in your province. A person under the age of majority in BC (age 19) and in Alberta (age 18) may enter only with the oral and written permission of his or her guardian.

All contestants must:

Ø  Agree that may Peace FM and CHET TV may use their name, image and/or voice for advertising purposes related to the Contest free of charge.

Ø  Agree to have your name, image and voice broadcast on Peace FM, CHET TV and on our websites or social media pages in relation to the promotion and contest free of charge. You may also be required to sign a release form;

Ø  If members of your family become part and parcel of the promotion as in the case of special event promotions, you will be responsible for securing their permission to be photographed and filmed. A permission slip will be provided for the contestant(s) and may be required at the start of the contest.

Ø  Follow the announcers directions to the contest at all times.

You are NOT eligible to enter and to win prizes if you are:

Ø  An employee or an active volunteer of Peace FM or CHET TV or an employee’s or full time volunteer’s immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter, or wife/husband) or a person living under the same roof;

Ø  A contestant who makes any false statement will be automatically disqualified from the Contest.

Ø  A winner who has publically attempted to sell prizes awarded to them.

Ø  A person who refuses to speak or to be filmed in regards to the awarding of the prize.

Ø  A person who does not follow the express directions of the announcer.

General Prize Rules:

For Peace FM radio call-in contests, you will be required to call in at the time of the contest and follow the instructions of the on-air host or an employee that answers the phone. For contests where the winner is selected by a draw, a random draw will be made by a Peace FM/CHET TV representative from all qualifying entries made by the contest deadline. Selected contestant(s) will be contacted using the contact information provided at the time of entry (e.g. telephone number, email address, Twitterhandle or Facebook account) and the contestant will be asked to answer in a specific manner and asked a question. If a selected contestant cannot be reached using the information provided at the time of entry or does not answer the telephone correctly or does not answer the skill testing question correctly, declines the prize, or fails to return any required release form when requested, the prize shall be forfeited and Peace FM/CHET TV has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner.

For Peace FM radio call-in contests, Twitter giveaways or any other Peace FM/CHET TV Contest where the winner is responsible for picking up the prize, the prize must be picked up within 3 business days from the time of the draw or it shall be forfeited and Peace FM/CHET TV has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner.

Chetwynd winners must be aware that all EnCana Event prizes and Dawson Creek events must be picked up in Dawson Creek at our Studios at PRIS office 929-106 Avenue, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, excluding holidays.

Prizes originating in Chetwynd can be picked up at our Chetwynd Studios at #2, 4612 North Access Road from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Note that if you are a winner and a friend or family member will pick up a coupon or certificate for you, he or she must provide identification, a note from you and must sign that he/she is authorized to pick up the prize for you.

If you are a winner of a prize less than $500 in value, you will NOT be eligible to win for at least 30 days. Major prize winners of the Vault, Valentine’s Day, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day or other major promotions will not be eligible for at least two years. Special rules for accepting the prize will be announced at the time of the award.

To be declared a winner, the selected contestant must first correctly answer a skill-testing question such as, “Who plays the Peace’s Best Music Mix?” or “Where can you watch CHET TV?” Potential winners may be required to furnish proof of identification. Winner(s) may also be required to sign a release declaring their eligibility as stipulated in these rules; and releasing Peace FM and CHET TV, any sponsor or prize donor and their directors, officers of the Contest.

No substitution of prizes will be allowed. Any unused portion of a prize will be forfeited.

Peace FM/CHET TV assumes no liability for any loss, damage or injury, including without limitation: (i) lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late, destroyed, illegible or incomplete entries; (ii) loss, theft or damage to software or computer or telephone data, including any breach of privacy; (iii) fraudulent calls; (iv) inability of any person to participate in the Contest for any reason including mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail; technical, computer or telephone malfunctions or other problems with computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, or software; congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing; (v) damage to any person’s computer, including as a result of playing or downloading any material relating to the Contest; (vi) any delay or inability to act resulting from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to administer the Contest; (vii) any injury, damage or loss arising from participation in the contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of any prize, or (viii) prizes that are lost, damaged or misdirected during shipping.

Peace FM/CHET TV reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Peace FM/CHET TV is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Peace FM/CHET TV reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

The decisions of the Manager or designate of the Chetwynd Communications Society with respect to any dispute or issue involving a Peace FM/CHET TV Contest are final and binding on all contestants
