Questions for Web Client:

General Information

  1. What is the name of your company?

  3. Who are the primary contacts for this project?

Current Site

  1. Do you presently have a website up? If so please answer the following questions:
  2. How important is it to maintain your current look and feel, logo, and branding?
  3. What are the main reasons you are redesigning your site?
  4. What are your primary online business objectives with the site redesign?

Audience/Desired Action

  1. Describe a typical user who might come to your site. Consider age, gender, online usage and what they might do for a living.
  2. What is the primary “action” the user should take when coming to your site? (Purchase, search for information, etc.)
  3. What are the key reasons the target user would choose to view your products and/or services? (cost, service, value, etc.)

Perception

  1. Use a few adjectives to describe how the user should perceive the new site.
  2. How would you measure the success of your website?
  3. List any URLs of sites you find compelling. What specifically do you like about these sites?

Content

  1. Who will be responsible for providing content for this site?
  1. Describe visual elements or content which should be utilized from your current site or marketing materials (logo, color scheme, navigation, naming conventions, etc.).

  3. Do you provide/share periodic updates or promotions with your clients/followers? (Twitter/Facebook/Google+)
  4. Do you host events or gatherings for clients/followers? (Facebook, possibly Eventbrite if charged events)
  5. Do you have a network of professional service providers that you work with? (LinkedIn)
  6. Do you promote professional networking among your employees? (LinkedIn)
  7. Do you want to monitor how/how many people are getting to your website (referral, search engines, demographics, etc.)? (Google Analytics/Webtools – Helps with SEO also)
  8. Do you have a physical location that should appear on mapping/direction websites? (Google Places, Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps, etc.)
