The School Holiday Program is a fun, inclusive and flexible program for children aged 5—12 years who are attending primary school. A range of activities and experiences are on offer everyday

that build upon your child’s skills, knowledge and understanding, as well as their curiosity and imagination.

Professional and qualified staff are on hand to help children build their cooperation skills, respect and independence, all the while ensuring they enjoy their holidays in a safe, fun and welcoming environment.

Lets get to know you, what you like and what you want to get out of the Holidays!! Everyone will have a chance to help with our creative Belmont Mural. Play fun group games, make Autumn leaf creations and make some fun Easter art and crafts to get in with the season!

Come dressed up as a superhero or cartoon character!!!! Steve Mayhew author/ illustrator will be running a cartoon workshop to teach us some great techniques and build your skills, doesn’t matter if you can draw or not!!! Make comic strips and look like you are flying through the city doing your best superhero pose for photos on a backdrop!

Today will be all about Africa! Learn about their culture, language, food and games. You will even learn how to play drums in an African drumming

workshop. We will be cooking up an African storm of tasty delights! Sien jou dan! (see you then!).

Stroll down to Barwon Valley Park to enjoy the playground; to use the flying fox, digging in the sandpit, go for a spin on the wizzy diz, have a kick of the footy, or just relax and take in the beautiful scenery! For lunch we will be cooking up some snags on the BBQ!

Public transport expedition! Today we will be using only public transport to make our way from the centres up to Melbourne, there we will check out the ACMI centre and get immersed in the screen worlds exhibition, head over for a picnic lunch in the park, and enjoy a visit to Birrarung Marr playground.

*Optional excursion for the first 30 children in grades 4—6 who book.

Get ready for a fun-filled day at the Wool Museum where we will be seeing both the Wildlife of Gondwana Dinosaur and Horrible Histories Pirate exhibits. We will then have a casual stroll down to the library for a relaxing afternoon. Don’t forget your membership card if you have one.

Arrrgh… come today in your best pirate costume! We will be making pirate hats and eye-patches and play feed the shark, musical islands and many more pirate games. Will you find the buried treasure? Watch out for a mutiny! See you there Matey’s.

Who’s your favourite musician? We want to see you dressed up today in your greatest rock star style! Be prepared for lots of music making and dancing. Also be ready to have some fun with games galore!

Giant connect four, twister, jenga, quoits and loads more! Get those thinking caps on because we will be having a trivia and quiz afternoon.

Football, soccer, tennis, basketball, whatever your sporting interest today will be filled with lots of different active and non-active activities! Brad from Netball Victoria will be running a NetSetGo activity. Come dressed in your favourite team or sporting colours. Design your own jersey, decorate a biscuit in your favourite colours and learn new ball game skills! GOAL!!

YMCA ANGLESEA CAMP

Get ready for an action packed day celebrating Nature Play Week, We will get out amongst nature and try rope courses, bush cooking, archery, hut building, scavenger hunt and indigenous handprinting.

*Activities subject to change due to staffing & weather. As well as the activities listed, other experiences which are responsive to the needs, interests, and choices of the children attending the program are available each day. Risk assessments have been completed for all excursions/incursion/routine outings; these are available at the service or upon request.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

For your children’s safety, an adult must sign them in on arrival and out on departure each day. ID will be required on sign out. A late fee of $45.00 per 15 minutes or part

thereof will be charged if children are collected later than 6.00pm to cover staff wages.

STAFF TO CHILD RATIO

The School Holiday Program operates within the following minimum staffing to child ratios:

•  1:15 at centre.

• 1:12 on excursions, 1:10/1:8 high risk excursions.

•  1:5 during swimming/water activities.

TRANSPORT

All excursion buses are booked through McHarrys Buslines. Where stated community buses or council cars may be used. Children may walk or ride for some excursions. This is stated at the program.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING?

Children need to bring a healthy play lunch, lunch, afternoon tea, fruit and a ‘named’ drink each day (no soft drinks). Please ensure that children bring food which does not require refrigerating or heating. If your child has any allergies or reactions to certain foods please let the program supervisor know. The program is a nut free zone. Appropriate clothing should be worn (comfortable clothes) during the program. A raincoat

must be packed for unexpected wet weather. Appropriate footwear is also required (no thongs or singlets).

BE SUNSMART – SEPTEMBER TO APRIL PROGRAMS

The City of Greater Geelong Sun smart policy will be enforced from September through to April (inclusive). Please provide a


wide brimmed hat for your child. Sunscreen provided.

ADMINISTERING MEDICATION

Medical conditions must be outlined in the enrolment information for each child, where applicable. Current medical action plans must be updated & submitted each year together

with a risk minimisation plan where necessary. All medication must be signed in and given to staff each day. All medication must be in the original package labelled with the Child’s name clearly identified. All medication must be within its use by date.

BEHAVIOUR/CONDUCT

The SHP staff work with families to support positive behaviour of all children in the program.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

Personal information collected on the enrolment form is used for the purpose of program enrolment and statistical recording. Information may be shared with funding agencies

and administrators for operational purposes only. The information will not be disclosed to any other party except as required by law.

CHILD CARE BENEFIT

Families may be eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB). To register for CCB please contact the Family

Assistance Office (FAO) on 13 61 50. Note: CCB is means tested. Families may be able to have the Child Care Rebate (CCR) paid to service. Please contact FAO for further information.

1.  Bookings received by Friday 24 March by 5pm will be processed in DATE ORDER and

in accordance with DET “Priority Access Guidelines”.

you are obliged to pay for All DAYS ticked regardless of non- attendance or sickness unless cancellation is received in writing by 5pm Monday 27 March.

4.  A confirmation letter and invoice will be issued via email within 7 days of enrolling. An invoice is confirmation your child/ren are enrolled in the program. Fees must be paid prior to attending the program or care will not be available.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are required in writing to . If a cancellation is received prior to 5pm Monday 27 March 2017 fees

related to that booking will no longer be charged and this will be confirmed by the City of Greater Geelong. If you do not have a response by the 25 March 2017, please contact 5272 4741. Cancellations received after Monday 27 March 2017 at 5pm will be charged at the daily fee.

There will be NO REFUNDS or exchange of days. Fees will still apply even if care is not used.
