Read First File

- read my follow-up letter and next steps rubric

- about thinkcharts folder:

•this will enable teachers to develop their thinkcharts

- about processes folder:

•authorthink: this will enable teachers to use the authorthink process to improve learner publishing

•thinkitgreat process: this will enable teachers to embed their thinkcharts into the thinkitgreat process

•sciencethink: this will enble teachers to better understand that process; a worked example has been included in an effort to enhance understanding of the process

- the two further documents in this folder: thinking and learning meet doc and thinking literacy document are supplementary and will reinforce some of their learning from our two days together; the one entitled organiser literacy will guide teachers in better understanding the thinking embedded into different organiser framing

The rest of the folders are simply bits and pieces that offer teachers a menu of possibilities.

Arts Stuff - simply offers some thinkcharts associated with the arts

'Littlies' stuff - shows teachers of the little ones how to frame organisers a little more simply; I have also included some criteria sheets; and immersion examples

Space Inquiry - offers immersion centres that address the main outcomes associated with this HISE focus topic; teachers will see that the main outcomes are all addressed within the immersion opportunities; the main investigation is actually a science focus where learners tackle an environmental issue of their choice in an effort to support life on this planet which they have learned has life based on its composition and place within the solar system

Electricity and magnets immersion centres - I have included these to provide models for immersion centres should teachers wish to have a go developing these for their 'thinkitgreat' task (see letter 2); in this particular inquiry, learners had a challenge to create a board game for children from a low socio economic background for Christmas; the game had to include magnets and electricity for light or sound

Change the World Unit - this is an example of an entire unit; I have included this for those who would like to see what it looks like when it is 'put together' as a whole' you will notice outcomes within organisers so that kids and teachers are aware of achievement as they progress through the unit; because all learning opportunities come from learning outcomes within curriculum documents, it is easy to simply add the outcome into the sections of the organisers as they are created

Foundation Immersion Tasks - these have been provided for teachers who would like to extend their professional knowledge in some of the tools on thinkbox that they may not have deep knowledge and understanding of; teachers will find learning centres on MI Theory, Mind Maps, and a number of deBono tools for deliberate thinking. A centre to develop an understanding of thinkcharts is also in this folder but it is the same task as in the ‘read first’ folder.
