1.Deacons in Full Connection are considered to be part of the pool of personnel available for deployment within the Iowa Annual Conference. Deacons are not itinerant, however, Deacons are included in the consideration as deployment of personnel is done in the appointment process. In order for the Cabinet to serve you and the church in the most effective way, it would be helpful to know of your preference for the next appointment year.

2.Deacons will continue to have primary responsibility for determining their own appointment, although the Cabinet may initiate conversation about a change in appointment. The Deacon will always have the prerogative to accept or decline the appointment when proposed by the Cabinet. The appointive process involves the needs and preferences of all the churches and ministry settings through the Conference. The Cabinet seeks to make the best match of gifts and graces of personnel available with ministry settings seeking leadership.
