Role & Responsibilities

Executive Sponsor = Greg Wozneak

·  Develop project vision in concert with the Project Manager

·  Communicate / reinforce value of project to UVa Health System Executives

·  Remove barriers for Project Manager and project team

·  Assist with establishing project scope, objectives, goals

·  Approves project budget and schedule

·  Prioritizes projects relative to other strategic initiatives as necessary

·  Assists providing high level project status reports

·  Resolve issues which are unresolved at the Project Owner and Project Manager level

Project Owner = James Choffel

·  Develop project vision in concert with the Project Manager

·  Owns business objectives for department and project

·  Accountable for project completion but not for day to day project activities

·  Resolves (or escalates) issues presented by the Project Manager

·  Ensures adequate resources (funding and human) are working on the project

·  Assists in resolving conflicting project dependencies

·  Removes barriers for the Project Manager and team as necessary

·  Provide project status updates to the Executive Sponsor and other governing bodies

Project Managers = Michael Jechorek (Medtronic) and Steve Prevost (UVA Health System)

·  Develop project vision in concert with the Executive Sponsor and Project Owner

·  Develop, monitor and manage project scope with all Stakeholders

·  Establish appropriate type of project teams and membership

·  Develop and maintain project budget with Project Team

·  Develop and manage the overall project work plan (major project plan)

·  Monitor and manage project issues to resolution

·  Facilitate project meetings with appropriate audiences

·  Accountable for the day to day project activities

·  Routinely interact with management, teams and other project leaders as appropriate

·  Adhere to the Project Management Methodology as defined by the PMO

·  Report project status to Project Owners, Executive Sponsors, project teams and other committees as appropriate (Change Control, Project Control, etc.)

Project Team = Membership should represent the knowledge experts necessary to successfully complete the project

·  Provide input to project scope and budget

·  Complete project tasks and deliverables accurately and on time

·  Develop and manage Project Plan components, modules or areas of expertise (minor project plans)

·  Openly and professionally communicates task and timeline challenges

·  Promptly report to the Project Manager the identification, escalation and resolution of issues

·  Report task status to the Project Manager utilizing defined reporting process
