Improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for all students.
To continue our celebration of National Foreign Language Week / Multi-Cultural Night / We will collect and analyze data from previous NYS Assessments to explore areas of strength and places to focus on within our programs in order to improve achievement.
We will use our in-house assessments and create common formative assessments to be given in January 2011 and monitor student progress throughout the year and then help by devising strategies for struggling learners.
We will collaborate as members of a PLC to share examples of best practice and to design common formative assessments in concert, where applicable.
Create and share as a department “best practice” lessons that incorporate these skills, with a focus on utilizing Web 2.0 technologies such as wikis, podcasts, Google Reader and Skype.
