General Transition Plan Description

2011 – 2012

During this school year, all grades will emphasize the Mathematical Practice Standards. Grades

K – 1 and High School Algebra 1 will align to CCSSM. Grades 2 – 8 will emphasize those standards which are similar in both the Oregon Math Core Standards and CCSSM.

2012 – 2013

During this school year, all grades will emphasize the Mathematical Practice Standards. Grades

K – 3 and High School Algebra 1 and Geometry will align to CCSSM. Grades 4 – 5 will align to CCSSM in the Domains of Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, and Number and Operations – Fractions and will align to the Oregon Math Core Standards in the Geometry Core Standard. Grades 6 – 8 will align to CCSSM in the Domains of Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number System, Expressions and Equations, and Functions and will align to the Oregon Math Core Standards in the Geometry and Statistics & Probability Core Standards. Some additional Oregon Math Content Standards will need to be addressed in Grades 3 – 8 to prepare students for the Oregon Math State Assessment (OAKS).

2013 – 2014

During this school year, all grades will emphasize the Mathematical Practice Standards. Grades

K – 8 and High School will align to CCSSM. Some additional Oregon Math Content Standards will need to be addressed in Grades 3 – 8 to prepare students for the Oregon Math State Assessment (OAKS).

2014 - 2015

This is the first year the CCSSM will be assessed. Grades K – 8 and High School will align to CCSSM – Content and Practice Standards.
