•The application of methods, techniques and managerial tools in solving problems/ clearly defined situations in the dynamic of the internal environment of production/ service of the firm

•Identifying theories, concepts, methods and tools necessary in managerial processes, in relation with the activities of production firms / service providers

7. Subject objectives (arising from the acquired specific competences)

7.1 Subject’s general objective / The internship for second year students, specialization Management, takes place in: production units, service providers units and also institutions providing public services.
As a result, the general objectives of the discipline concern:
The knowledge of specialized terminology and providing a scientific basis for professional judgment in order to:
1) an appropriate use in practice of core knowledge of products / services management and modern methods specific for the field,
2) the collection, processing and analysis of economic data in organizations, 3) grounding and proposal of solutions to economic problems which concern the field of production and services.
7.2 Specific objectives / The goal of the internship is to initiate students into specific problems of production and services management and to motivate them regarding the study of the specificities of these fields, in order to propose relevant solutions, founded adequately:
  • Forming skills of working based on a program.
  • Creating conditions for independent and team study.
  • Involving students in practical activities.
  • Developing argumentation capacities.

General aspects concerning the company’s activity: constitution, brief history, assets of the economic agent, structure of products / services, market analysis: location and emplacement, description of the market: market share, market trends, and competition. / Case study prepared by students / 3 meetings /

The management of production process / process of service providing: choosing a product / service to be analyzed from the following perspectives:
a) description of process flow for goods or the blueprints for services;
b) description of the main aspects that characterize the production process / service providing process, including upstream and downstream activities that affect the base process.
Identification of 2-3 problems on the basis of the previous elements and propose solutions to improve the situation. Proposed solutions must be justified and supported by firm’s possibilities discussed above. / Case study prepared by students / 3 meetings /

Calculation of indicators and interpretation of the obtained values: Profitability ratios (gross profit, net profit, net profit ratio, return on equity, return on assets), growth indicators (growth rate of CA, gross profit growth index), indicators targeting the market, indicators targeting human resource. / Case study prepared by students / 3 meetings /

9. Corroboration / validation of the subject’s content in relation to the expectations coming from representatives of the epistemic community, of the professional associations and of the representative employers in the program’s field.

There have been collaborations with various companies in the field of goods production or services, to facilitate the acceptance of students for internship, and at the end of the internship discussions took place with the person in charge in order to adapt the curriculum to the practical realities in the fields.

10.4 Course / Assessment of practical files will be based on the following criteria:
• 60% - content of the study (compliance and customization chapters based on the curriculum, an critical approach of problems, originality and relevance of proposed solutions)
• 10% - involvement in discussions during the two meetings scheduled during the semester
• 10% - presentation of the practical work
• 10% - responses given to questions received during the colloquium / presentation of the file
• 10% - ex officio

10.6 Minimum performance standard
•Accomplishment of a project presenting at least one of the problems identified in the requirements from the perspective of identifying, analyzing and proposing solutions for solving / improving it.
