There is an annual fee which can cover as many dishes and/or products as you choose to apply for, based on turnover as follows:

Up to £50,000 £50 Up to £5 million £500

Up to £100,000 £75 Up to £10 million £800

Up to £500,000 £200 £10 million or over £1000

Up to £1 million £350 £50 million or over£1900

No payment is necessary at this stage. You will be invoiced when you receive approval to use the Viva! symbol/s.

Criteria for use

Please read the following criteria and ensure that all dishes and/or products for which you would like the use of Viva!’s Vegetarian, Vegan and Dairy-Free symbols adhere strictly to each and every one of the criteria listed. Failure to do so may result in permission to use the symbol/s being refused or revoked. If you have any queries about any of the following, please contact Viva!. Please note if you want to use wording in addition to the symbol on your product/literature, it must be approved by Viva! first.

  • NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS

No product may contain animalproducts, by-products or derivatives (this includes insects and crustacean). Examples of by-products and derivatives include – but are not limited to - rennet, gelatine, lactose, casein, aspic, suet, lanolin, chitin, tallow, pepsin, collagen, elastin, keratin, whey, cochineal, shellac, isinglass, fur, feathers, felt, leather, suede, wool, silk, Alpaca, Angora, Cashmere, Down, Mohair, honey, beeswax, propolis, Royal Jelly. Some E numbers can be both animal based and non-animal so it is important to identify the source of any E numbers used. No product may have used animal products in its manufacture.

  • NO ANIMAL TESTING

No finished product, or its ingredients, may be tested on animals (this includes insects,crustacean and invertebrates), either by the company or on its behalf by a third party. A fixed cut-off date, after which products or ingredients must not be tested of animals, should be provided.

  • NO GM INGREDIENTS

Products should not contain any GM ingredients.

  • NO CROSS-CONTAMINATION

It is important that approved products do not come into contact with non-veganproducts during the production process. It is therefore vital that utensils, work surfaces, machinery etc are properly cleaned before preparing approved products.
