Position Purpose: /
- To provide best practice patient care as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary hospital team, acting in a position of advocacy for the woman and her family
Qualifications: /
- Nurse/Midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post Graduate qualification in midwifery, Double Degree Nursing & Midwifery
- Direct Entry Midwife
- A current registration certificate from the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia

Ensure the provision and implementation of quality clinical care / Organisation successfully accredited by ACHS / Provides collaborative explanations and education to the woman and her family during each care phase, from initial assessment through to discharge planning
Adheres to Nursing/Midwifery Regulatory Standards as set down by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Compliance with occupational health and safety, quality and infection control policy and procedures
Keeps up to date with quality accreditation standards
Recognises and communicates relevant changes in patient condition to appropriate multidisciplinary team members
Consistently monitor/maintain patient condition and liaise with multidisciplinary team to decide ongoing care and treatment regimes
Attends in-services as required
Contributes towards the organisation being successfully accredited by ACHS
Ensure effective lines of communication are maintained / Well informed staff working in a harmonious environment
