  • To provide best practice patient care as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary hospital team, acting in a position of advocacy for the woman and her family

Qualifications: /
  • Nurse/Midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post Graduate qualification in midwifery, Double Degree Nursing & Midwifery
  • Direct Entry Midwife
  • A current registration certificate from the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia

Ensure the provision and implementation of quality clinical care / Organisation successfully accredited by ACHS / Provides collaborative explanations and education to the woman and her family during each care phase, from initial assessment through to discharge planning
Adheres to Nursing/Midwifery Regulatory Standards as set down by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Compliance with occupational health and safety, quality and infection control policy and procedures
Keeps up to date with quality accreditation standards
Recognises and communicates relevant changes in patient condition to appropriate multidisciplinary team members
Consistently monitor/maintain patient condition and liaise with multidisciplinary team to decide ongoing care and treatment regimes
Attends in-services as required
Contributes towards the organisation being successfully accredited by ACHS
Ensure effective lines of communication are maintained / Well informed staff working in a harmonious environment
