Horse Show Rules

  1. The Hamilton Hunt reserves the right to postpone, cancel the show, refuse entries or alter the conditions, as they deem necessary. If the show must be cancelled due to weather it will be posted on our Hamilton Hunt Facebook group and website by no later then 6:00am on show day.
  2. All riders must enter appropriate divisions for there riding ability, see division rules
  3. There will be a non-refundable $15 administration fee
  4. ***New this Year*** Online Entries for the show must be completed by Wednesday prior to the Sunday show. Online Entry by Wednesday waives the $15 Administration Fee and Guarantees Entry Giveaway Prize

  1. There is a one time number fee of $10, and riders are asked to hold onto the same number for the duration of the show season (if they misplace their number a replacement number fee is $10)
  2. Year-end points will be awarded to the horse and rider pair
  3. The show grounds shall be open for schooling at 6:30am for warm up rounds, ticketed warm ups from 7-7:45 am with the show beginning promptly at 8:00 am.
  4. Hunter Shows: $10 warm-up fees. Riders will be allowed a maximum of two rounds of rider/horse pair in their scheduled warm up times. This will be strictly enforced
  5. Dogs must remain on a leash.
  6. ASTM approved helmets and proper footwear must be worn while mounted
  7. All entries must be accompanied by a signed cheque or cash deposit. NSF cheques are subject to a $50 surcharge.
  1. Use of bell boots, splint boots, polo wraps may be used at the judges discretion
  1. All owners and competitors are personally responsible for any damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third party insurance (OEF) providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events and to keep their policy up to date.
  2. All owners and competitors shall be held responsible for any damages incurred by them, their agents, their employees or their horses to stalls, buildings and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly
  3. All exercising, lunging, riding, etc of non-showing horses is solely at your own risk. Owner will be responsible for damages/ harm to third parties or other horses
  4. Hunters: Proper show attire must be worn, ladies hair to be contained in helmet or in a braid(s). Jackets may be excused in extreme weather at the discretion of the judge.
  5. Jumpers: Riders are ask to dress tidy, show shirt and jacket or polo shirt and beige breech’s
  6. Points will be rewarded as follows, point value of placing X (times) thenumber of entires. (1st= 6, 2nd = 5, 3rd =4, 4th= 3, 5th= 2, 6th =1). [For example if rider places 2nd in a class of 11 entries: 5 X 11 = 55.] In the event of a tie the champion or reserve will be awarded to the rider/ horse with the most points over fences
  7. Hunter Rider/ Horse pair must show at 3 of the 5 shows andJumpers 3 out of 4 shows to qualify for End of the year awards,
  8. The cross country course will be open for unlimited schooling from 10am to 2pm on show days. $20 fee and a waiver signed is required. It is strongly recommended to have a coach present
  9. All questions shall be directed to the show management, their decisions will be final.
