Biology Position Profile
Full-time, Tenure-track Position
The Biology Department of Onondaga Community College invites applications to fill a full-time, tenure-track Anatomy & Physiology teaching position beginning Fall 2009.
The primary teaching responsibility will be Anatomy & Physiology (BIO 171/172), an introductory-level two-semester course offered primarily for students entering health-related professions such as nursing, respiratory therapy, and surgical technology. Teaching assignment times negotiable, but would likely include a mixture of days, evening and/or weekends.
Additional responsibilities will include academic advising and committee service. Applicants should also have the ability to teach additional Biology classes, including classes for non-majors.
Interested applicants must fulfill the following requirements for application:
*Masters degree or higher in a relevant biological science with a concentration in
anatomy, physiology, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
is required; doctorate in anatomy and/or physiology or related field is preferred.
Relevant clinical degrees will also be considered.
*College teaching experience is required. Experience teaching both lecture and
laboratory components of a course is recommended. Experience teaching Anatomy &
Physiology (lecture and lab) at the college level is preferred.
