JANUARY 2017

PRINCIPAL PONDERINGS

It’s time to celebrate! We have much to rejoice about this time of year – observing the birth of Christ, marking the New Year, watching all those Bowl games, and one more thing – we have received a full five year accreditation from ACSI! We expect to receive accreditation from AdvancEd in the near future since the ACSI team does the review for both agencies. I want to thank you for your part in helping to achieve this status. Many of you filled out at least one survey and some participated in the parent interview session. The RC Christian staff and board put in many hours to complete the rigorous self-study in preparation for the visit. And the Steering Committee of Jennifer Prahl, Matt Brown, and Rich Stecher put in even more time! While some of the requirements might seem tedious, the entire process is extremely valuable for improving our school. It’s good to stop and examine what we are doing and why. The ACSI team helped by affirming our assessments, identifying areas of strength, and encouraging us to make changes in the areas that need improvement. Seems like a great personal exercise to start the New Year! Psalm 26:2 says, “Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind.” Our desire continues to be that we reflect His goodness and excellence in all that we undertake. Thank you all for your support to the ministry and mission of RC Christian. We look forward with great anticipation to see how the Lord will work here in the year ahead! Always amazed by His grace – Julie

A WORD OF APPRECIATON FROM THE STAFF!

The administration, faculty, and staff wish to thank all the families who showered us with gifts and delicious goodies before the holidays. Words cannot express how much we appreciated the generous love offering taken at the Christmas concert. It is an honor to serve the Lord by serving your children!

A WORD FROM OUR ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

It’s hard to believe that 2017 is here and we are already a month into the basketball season. I want to thank all of you for volunteering and supporting the Comets sports programs. As you know, without parent volunteers we wouldn’t have a concession stand nor would our contests run as smoothly. Your participation is necessary and very much appreciated. You can call the office or go to the following sites to sign up on-line for boys’ basketball at http://signup.com/go/Zcz7A7 and girls’ basketball at http://signup.com/go/PgnyGe.

As always, schedules can and do change for a variety of reasons. Coaches are constantly communicating pertinent information to their players. When there is a time change to a game, players are informed and you can verify that information by checking the announcements on INOW, Facebook, and our athletic calendars found on the website. When possible we will try to inform you of time changes by email also. – Kyle Courtney
