Awards Information
The below denotes a number of external award nominations from various constituent institutions which honor alumni for their hard work and efforts on behalf of their Alma Mater. In seeking to maximize all opportunities to honor Dillard University alumni, the university invites you to make nominations for the following awards. Based on the nominations, the university will prepare the applications for submission. Please forward your nominations to the Office of Alumni Relations via email to . All nominations should include a bio, CV or resume’, in addition to the requested information for each award noted below, to complete the nomination by the requested deadlines. UNCF Award Nominations (due August 31st)
Criteria for the UNCF National Alumni Council Outstanding Young Alumnus Award:
· Must have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from the institution in the last ten years
· Outstanding contribution to his/her alma mater, the community and/or UNCF
· Specific details of the significant contributions and noteworthy community service performed by the individual to his/her alma mater and the larger community
· Identify Awards and Recognition alum has received, particularly those that are reflective of his/her significant contributions to their alma mater, the community and/or UNCF
To nominate, submit the nomination to the Alumni Relations Office via email at . The nomination should include the above information for each nominee.
Criteria for the UNCF National Alumni Council Outstanding Alumnus/Hall of Honor Award:
· Must have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from the institution
· Outstanding achievement in their professional, civic or community activities
· Distinguished service to their alma mater
· Identify Awards and Recognition alum has received, particularly those that are reflective of his/her significant contributions to their alma mater, the community and/or UNCF
· Community service and professional activities should be prominent

Criteria for the UNCF National Alumni Council Cecilia E. Washington Award:
· Identify specific services(s) the nominee has rendered on behalf of UNCF?
· Identify three community service events rendered by the nominee on behalf of UNCF.
· Identify specific benefits received by UNCF as a result of these events?
· Identify at least two specific contributions (financial, social service, political, workplace Initiative, in-kind) made by the recipient on behalf of his/her UNCF alma mater and the tangible benefits received by the institution as a result of this initiative? Provide written documentation from the institution.
· Identify how, professionally, the alum has demonstrated his/her commitment to advancing the cause of higher education for UNCF students? List at least three examples.

National Black College Alumni Hall Of Fame Nominations (due Oct. 31st)
We have an opportunity to nominate alumni for the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame.Each applicant has the potential to receive a total overall score of 100 points in the process. Below is the point system that the NBCAHOF will use to judge:
a. Nominee’s Contribution(s) to Nominating Institution: 25 points
b. Nominee’s Contribution(s) to HBCUs in General: 25 points
c. Nominee’s Accomplishments in Area of Nomination: 25 points
Nomination Areas: Arts/ Entertainment, Athletics, Business/ Industry, Civil Rights, Community Service, Education, Faith/ Theology, Government/ Law, Medicine, Science, Lifetime Achievement
d. Nominee’s Professional and Community Involvement: 10 points
e. Nominee’s Involvement in National Alumni Association: 10 points
f. Nominee’s Honors & Awards: 5 points

National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Legacy Award Nominations (due by May 15th)
The winning individuals or chapters will have demonstrated leadership qualities of integrity and trustworthiness, as well as, possess the ability to communicate a vision, and lead others to take effective action to achieve a goal. They will have a track record of having made a positive impact on their Alma mater and/or their alumni association, as well as having improved the quality of life in their community. An institution can only have 1 nominee per category.
The nominating categories are as follows:
· Distinguished Alumnus of the Year
· National Alumni President of the Year
· Alumni Director of the Year
· Small Alumni Chapter of the Year
· Large Alumni Chapter of the Year
· National Alumni Association of the Year
