Dear Participants,
The Museum on the Seam - for Dialogue, Understanding and Coexistence () in Jerusalem is happy to extend an invitation to you to participate in an international travelling graphic art exhibition. This outside exhibition opened in Spring, 2001 and is travelling to many cities around the world.
It is most appropriate that in Jerusalem we are organizing an exhibition on “Coexistence”. In Jerusalem, which has known thousands of years of conflict, we are now trying to find new ways of resolving our differences. The Museum on the Seam aims to present “conflict situations” and set out the possibilities for reaching solutions without resorting to violence.
Modern society has witnessed various attempts to integrate heterogeneous populations, however, it has yet to devise effective tools by which to bridge the gaps between groups. Coexistence can only be achieved by education, learning to respect “the other”. The exhibition, Coexistence, is our contribution to this effort.
We hope that you will be included in sending this message around the world.
Many cities have expressed interest in hosting and showing the exhibition. To date the exhibition’s schedule has been and will be, as follows:

The posters in the exhibition will be created by the Museum in 3x5m format for display in open air locations beyond the confines of a museum setting.
Because so many countries are involved, only one poster from South Africa can be be selected to join this exhibition. A symbolic “prize” of $1000 will be given to the South African artist whose poster is selected.
The project has received international press and television coverage, as part of a variety of related activities. In the wake of the exhibition, a catalogue will be published documenting the posters and the exhibition sites.
