Each year, time trialers must have their car inspected. Below is the calendar for the Free GGR Annual Tech days. If you can't make those, there is a list of authorized tech stations (you will be charged approx. $40) A set of notes on what you can expect at the inspection, a tech form checklist and the rule book are available on-line. (If you are attending the Saturday-only portion of the weekend, you don't need to have your car tech'ed. Refer to Section 3.1 High Speed Driving School for your entrant requirements.)
Please be sure to have your full tech inspection done before your first event. Annual techs are not performed at the track.
All entrants must personally complete and sign the Event Tech Checklist for every Driver's Ed event they enter. Bring the Checklist to Tech at the track; Tech will collect the checklist, complete a safety check, and if all is OK, issue event stickers. This new procedure does not preclude Annual Tech at the beginning of each season; it does, however, keep the the participant aware of his/her car's condition during the season. This should include the safety and fun factor of GGR's Drivers Ed series.

Technical Inspection
Notes for 2007
• / In preparing your vehicle for the 2007 season, be sure to have a fire extinguisher that is 10-B:C rated and meets the requirements in the PCA-GGR rule book under section 3.2T (c).
• / Save yourself some time by inspecting your own car prior to taking it to one of the authorized inspection sites. Use the Event Tech Form
• / One full tech is required prior to your first event each year. After that, we will do an inspection of safety items at the track. We will also do full tech spot checks at the track, so be sure to do your own full tech before each event. Pay particular attention to wheel bearings, wheel lug nuts, brake pads, brake fluid, steering looseness, battery tie downs, tire tread depth, and seat belt security (cotter pins or safety wire in clip-in type).
• / Be sure to sit in the passenger seat and buckle up the belts. Make sure the shoulder belts cannot slip off your shoulders. You may need to have a strap holding the belts together at your chest. For example look at the NASCAR drivers on television.
• / Drivers with open cars need to ensure that the roll bar is higher than the top of your helmet. The rules require a minimum 2 inch clearance. No matter how tight you strap yourself in, the belts will stretch in the event of an impact or roll over.
• / If your seat belt mounting hardware goes through the floor or bulkhead with nuts on the reverse side, ensure that they are secured with nylock nuts or double nuts. Same mounting requirements for bolt-in roll bars/cages.
• / Some accessory shops have been selling fire extinguishers with no pressure gage. These do not meet the requirements for GGR.
• / Use the tech form as your guide to a complete technical inspection. Now that you have made the decision to participate in our high speed drivers events, paid your entry fee, and made the trip to the track, we do not want to turn you away for a technical violation, but due to your safety and the other drivers on the track with you, we really have no choice if your car is potentially unsafe.
