TOPIC: EVHS FAN BUS

We will be taking a student fan bus to Texas State University in San Marcosto the playoff game between Kerrville Tivy HS and our East View Patriots. The bus will leave East View at 4:30 from the flag pole, and will return at approximately 12Midnight. To sign up, please see Mrs. Martinka at the diamond. The price is $5 per student.

TOPIC: PATRIOT FOOTBALL

Please make plans to attend tonight’s game vs Kerrville Tivy HS on the campus of Texas State (Bobcat Stadium, Texas State University, San Marcos TX)at 7:30.Dress in school colors, wave a white towel, and bring lots of energy and enthusiasm!

Tickets to the Area Playoffgame vs Kerrville Tivy HSwill be sold Monday-Friday at East View at the diamond, and the Athletics Office on 1313 Williams Dr. Sales will end at noon on Friday at both locations. Student tickets are $4.00, and Adults pay $8.00. All tickets will be $10.00 at the game. Texas State will also be charging $ 5 for parking.

TOPIC: KINDNESS MATTERS

Dame Anita Roddick, British businesswoman, said, “The end result of kindness is that it draws people to you.”

This week’s Kindness Challenge is to be that magnet. Start by saying “hello” to strangers and doing it with a sincere smile. You’ll be amazed at the smiles and warmth you get in return.

TOPIC: STUDENT COUNCIL

There will be a Student Council meeting Monday after school in room 207. All officers and members should plan to attend.

Turkey Feathers: Today is the last day to purchase feathers for your teachers! Tellthe teachers and staff members who have helped you "thank you" by buying them a feather for 25 cents during all lunches.

TOPIC: FCA

Today is the last day to sign up for the Baylor Football Game with FCA! Tickets are $35 and include a t-shirt and a food voucher. The game is Sat. Dec. 6 vs Kanas State time TBA. Bring a friend and come join us! Sign up though Coach Washington in the field house.

TOPIC: ASVAB

We will be giving the ASVAB on Friday, December 5th to all 11th graders at EVHS. If you are a senior who wants to retake the exam you may sign up in the guidance office with Mrs. Lewis. The deadline for signing up is Tuesday, Nov. 25th at 4:00.

TOPIC: BASEBALL TOY DRIVE

Please join East View Patriot Baseball as we celebrate the spirit of giving this holiday season. During the months of November and December, East View Patriot Baseball players and coaches will be collecting toys to be donated to the children of the Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown.

To donate, please give your new, unwrapped toy to any East View baseball player or deliver them to Coach Pullen’s office.

TOPIC: U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY MIDSHIPMAN PRESENTATION

Midshipman 1/C Felicia Crockett will visit East View High School on 11/24/14 to personally provide information and insight to students about the Naval Academy. She graduated from McNeil High School almost 4 years ago and is now a Firstie (Senior) at the U.S. Naval Academy.She will meet with interested students in the EVHS’s CTE building in classroom 710 from 9:30 to 10:45. If you know of any students interested in attending the Naval Academy, please encourage them to attend. Midshipmen 1/C Felicia Crockett would be happy to contact and if practical meet with any student who cannot attend the scheduled session.Please request a pass from your counselor or provide your contact information if you are interested. You can also contact Captain Gusman, the EVHS NJROTC SNSI for further information.

TOPIC: JACK FROST CITIZENS OF THE MONTH

The November Jack Frost Citizens of the Month for November are Macey Heald and Nick Bradford. Both students were recognized at the school board meeting this week for their accomplishments. Please congratulate these awesome students when you see them!

SENIORS: It’s not too late to apply for the Jack Frost Citizen Award. Pick up an application in Mrs. A. Ray’s room (room 208 in the English hall). Winners are introduced at the school board meeting and rewarded a savings bond at a breakfast in their honor at the end of the year. This award looks great on college and scholarship applications!
