Using MWAH391 Scopes for capturing images

By default, the scopes will print a hard copy to the printer when the print button is pushed.
During your labs, if you want a printed copy of the screen;
- Push the Menu Off button to clear the screen of any unnecessary clutter.
- Push the Print button and the image will be sent to the printer located on the bench of your lab station and can be picked up there.
There are times when you will want to save the screen capture to a disk. If this is needed, there are certain steps necessary to modify the saving location to achieve this.
Saving screen images
Follow these steps to capture image to disk
- Insert floppy into disk drive
- Push the “Utility” button
- Push the “System” button and select “Hard Copy”
- Push the “Format” button
- Then use the “More” button to scroll through and find the file type
- Select the file type you want to save it as (ie. tiff, png, bmp…ect.)
- Push the “Port” screen button
- Select “File” to send hard copies to disk
- Rename the file for convince
i) Push the “File Utilities” button
ii) Use the “More” button to find “Rename”
iii) Use the “General Purpose” knob to highlight the file of interest
iv) Push the “Rename” button
v) Use the Arrow buttons to move through the file name
vi) The character of interest will be highlighted
vii) Use the general purpose knob to select the new character for that position
viii) Push “Enter Character” button
ix) Continue this process until the desired name is written
x) Push the “OK Accept” button (Caution: don’t change the file extension when renaming)
- Push the “Menu Off” button
- Then Push the button with the Printer icon on it. This will send the image to the floppy.
Going back to printing a hard copy to the printer
1) Push the “Utilities” button
2) Push the “System” button
a) Push until “Hard Copy” is selected
3) Push the “Format” button
4) Push the “More” button until you see “Laserjet Laser Printer” and push the associated button.
5) Push the “Port File” button and select “Ethernet”
6) This brings it back to printing to the printer
7) Push the button with the printer icon on it
8) It will now print to the printer
Another Option
You can also go to the computer and open up an IE window and type in the IP address of the scope you are using. This will bring up the scope screen and you can work with it form there.
