Staffing Criteria / Qualifications / Education, Training And Experience:Graduation from an approved university or technical institution with a degree or diploma in a
related field with 2 continuous years or 4 field seasons (minimum 3 months each) related fire
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- “related field” includes a degree or diploma in Forestry, Environment, Parks, Fish & Wildlife, Wildlife Management, Recreation or Resource Management.
- “equivalent combination of education and experience” includes minimum Grade 12 and either 3 years continuous experience or 5 field seasons (minimum 3 months each)
Prefer S411 Fire Weather for Fire Operations.
Prefer E100 Basic Law.
12 months continuous supervisory experience or twofield seasons supervisory experience.
Prefer supervisory experience of field crews.
Prefer supervisory experience in a unionized workforce.
Experience with computers.
Certification:
Certification as an Incident Commander Type 3 or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License Class 5 Mandatory.
Level 1 First Aid.
Prefer BCWS faller certified.
Prefer Level 3 First Aid.
Prefer BCWS Trainer Certification in Hover Exit, Chainsaw, and/or Helipad Construction.
