**ACTIVITIES/EVENTS and THINGS TO KNOW**
**It’s playoff time!! Volleyball has advanced to the 2nd round of playoffs and Sunset will head TO West Linn on Saturday, October 28th at 6:00 PM. Playoff games require all fans to pay to watch; no more family passes or ASB stickers. Adults are $6.00 and students are $4.00.
On Saturday, October 28th, both the boy’s and girls’ soccer teams will be playing in first round games. The boys will play at 3:00 PM against David Douglas, and the girls game is at 6:00 PM (opponent to be determined). Both games are AT SUNSET, and admission is $6.00 (adults) and $4.00 (students). Go Apollos!
**Apollos Unplugged will celebrate Halloween a little late with “Apollo Haunted House” on November 2nd at 7:00 in the A Wing. Admission is $4.00, and this covers an evening of priceless entertainment.
**This year the Drama Department is presenting Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. The Fall Play will be presented in the auditorium on November 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th. The curtain rises at 7:30 pm, and tickets are $10.00 for adults, and $8.00 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door beginning at 7:00 pm.
**Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are accepting submission for the 2018 awards. The categories available for submission range from digital art, photograph, fashion, and writing. The deadline for submission is December 1st. Please see one of the art teachers in the T Building for more information.
**Sunset is once again offering administrative lead Walking Tours of campus. Established dates are Thursday, November 9th, November 16th, November 30th and December 7th. All tours start at 4:00 pm and leave from the Main Office. No need to register, just show up!
**ACADEMIC SUPPORT**
**Peer Tutoring is open for business! This program is sponsored by NHS (National Honor Society) and offers academic assistance in a variety of fields. Sessions are open from 1:30-2:30 pm, and held during AT. Science help is available in A-15, and Writing/Reading help can be found in room 1-2. Math help will be available soon.
**The Afterschool Homework Club is open and ready for business. Once again, it will be held in the Library from 2:45 – 4:30 pm. It will meet each Tuesday and Thursday and is open to all students seeking helping in any school subject.
**IB INFORMATION**
**IB Exam Registration 2018 begins Tuesdays, October 3rd. Testing occurs in the month of May, but registration runs through the month of October. REGISTRATION WILL END OCTOBER 30th. Please pick up a form in the IB Office (located within the Main Office). This form will require teacher initials, a parent signature, and a check in order to be processed in the Business Office. IB requires a ONE-TIME registration fee of $172.00, and each test is $93.00. Scholarships are available; see Ms. Boeshenstein for details.
**SENIORS**
**Senior Photos are due by November 17th. They can be electronically submitted via jpeg to the Yearbook staff is also offering FREE senior photo sessions during AT in the month of November. Contact the yearbook staff in Room T-3 for any questions or to schedule your photo session.
**November 9th in the Community Room you can become an Instant Viking! Complete the application for Portland State University, and speak directly to an Admissions Officer all in one room, on one date. It does not get any easier than this. Come by the Community Room between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to take advantage of this great opportunity.
