JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing Director (DMD) will lead the organization’s efforts to engage, acquire, cultivate and retain supportersacross all digital platforms. This important role will be responsible for building best-in-class digital fundraising, online UX and engagementstrategies. Responsibilities also include annual business planning, budgets, key metric reporting and the management of external agencies. The ideal candidate will be strong in data analysis, but will possess the ability to combine research, intuition and brand inputs to make decisions. This person will be a thought-leader in the area of digital marketing and will continuously evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve donor experience and fundraising efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Annual strategic planning for digital marketing in support of all ODUSA programs.
  • Monthly KPI reporting to analyze results, insights and opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives as a thought leader in the digital space.
  • Develop and execute measurable engagement and retention strategies that will allow ODUSA to cultivate meaningful relationships with its supporters.
  • Recommend and deploy strategies to improve response rates, conversion, retention, acquisition cost (email and donor) and lifetime donor values.
  • Lead the process of building digital pathway strategies that leverage customer profiles and behavioraldata towards the goal of automated communications.
  • Oversee the management, hosting and development of all web properties.
  • Lead site optimization strategies to include UX, UI, architecture, navigation, site mapping, functionality and page load speeds.
  • Partner with content managers, editors, designers and developers to ensure websites align with brand strategy and meet forward-thinking web standards.
  • Improve message integration and consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Lead email optimization and testing strategy, increase health and launch key growth initiatives to expand house file.
  • Oversee all lead gen campaign strategies through high-level marketing strategies.
  • Lead development of the organization’s mobile engagement and fundraising strategy.
  • Monitor industry innovations and new technologies with the goal of improving ODUSA’s engagement with US Christians.
  • Work with and manage outside vendors and consultants to improve effectiveness and ROI.
  • Work with the ODUSA multi-media manager on video name/donoracquisition strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive performance and growth.
  • Manage and develop digital marketing staff (1-2).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Analytical mindset with a desire to constantly learn, improve and innovate.
  • Proven track record of innovation in email acquisition, retention and engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of website architecture, navigation, indexing, url structure and SEO strategies.
  • Deep knowledge and usage of Google Analytics and related tools.
  • Familiarity with operating and administering a WordPress CMS.
  • Proven track record using A/B testing to improve performance of digital communications such as emails, landing pages, web pages, etc.
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in digital marketing for a consumer focused brand, building digital destinations and customer experience across platforms.
  • Fundraising experience a plus.
