Job Description – Goods Receiving Supervisor /
Role: / Goods Receiving Supervisor (GRS)

Requirement: /
  • Grade 12 or ZQF Level 2 with at least 2 (two) years retail experience.
  • Numeric skills and ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Able to work under pressure. • Have basic computer literacy.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and Public Holiday’s

Key Performance Area / Description
Receive / IBT Stock /
  • Ensure always a 2nd designated Cashbuild Employee present with receiving and/or dispatching of stock
  • Receive stock from suppliers, correctly identify goods and physically balance to the suppliers Invoice/Delivery Note and Cashbuilds Markroom Copy.
  • Capture correctly on the IT system within 24 (twenty-four) hours
  • Ensure all invoices with discrepancies have been amended, endorsed and signed off by the Supplier’s representative as well as registration number of truckentered onto invoice.
  • Ensure all inter branch transfers (IBT’S) IN and OUT are processed within the set time period and that there are no discrepancies and all relevant documentation is filed.

Stock Distribution and Merchandising /
  • Stock received must be cleared from the GRS office and merchandised within 24 (twenty-four) hours of receiving the stock.

Stock Marking and Merchandising /
  • Ensure all stock received without the SKU printed on the packaging is marked with the appropriate SKU label on the back of the product.
  • Ensure that items with printed sku’s are correct and rectify any errors noted

Supplier Claims/Corrections /
  • Ensure that all claims are validated with the Supplier’s pick-up slips or credit notes attached to the adjustment vouchers and authorised by the Store Manager
  • Ensure any corrections done have therequired documentation attached and authorised by the Store Manager
  • Ensure to a=only process authorised documentation on the system.
  • Supplier claims should not be raised unless stock is to be collected immediately.

Security /
  • Receiving Gate not to be left unattended when open.
  • Receiving Stamp and Purchase Order delivery book should be locked in a lockable cupboard.or drawer
  • The GRS Office door should always be locked when the GRS is not in the office.

Housekeeping /
  • Ensure the GRS office is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Receiving area to cleared of excess and damaged stock

Customer Service /
  • Adhere to the Cashbuild Dress code at all times, Name badge to be displayed and visible to the Customer
  • Immediately assist with Customer complaints

Store Safety (OHSA) Requirements /
  • Safety (OHSA) compliance (e.g. ensure customer and staff safety) within area of responsibility
  • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager

  • Assist Customers with queries and complaints
