LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will:
study and perform literature in a variety of styles
study and perform music of different cultures and languages
demonstrate proper tone production to include proper posture and breathing
demonstrate proper tone production to include vowel and consonant formation
perform in an expressive manner with dynamic contrasts and phrasing
perform in an expressive manner with proper tempo and articulation
demonstrate note reading skills to include pitch and basic rhythm patterns
sight sing simple melodic patterns and melodies

Choir Notebook: 3-ring binder (no larger than 1 inch)
1 set of dividers (5 dividers)
Pencil pouch and 3 pencils
50 sheets of loose-leaf paper

Music Literature (Students must pay for all lost or damaged music!). We will provide a variety of appropriate repertoire (age and ensemble size) to include: anthems and motets, carols, folk songs, lullabies, madrigals, musicals (selections/excerpts), part songs, patriotic song, pop music, rounds, and spirituals.
