R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Louis Albert Schreiner II of the YO Ranch of Mountain Home on April 13, 2001, at the age of 41, has brought a great loss to the family and many friends of this beloved gentleman; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 4, 1959, Louie Schreiner was a greatgrandson of Captain Charles Schreiner, a Texas Ranger, rancher, and businessman who founded the YO Ranch more than a century ago; and
WHEREAS, Mr.Schreiner earned a bachelor's degree in finance from The University of Texas, graduated from the Texas Christian University School of Ranch Management, and was a licensed real estate broker; with his three brothers, he operated the family's 50,000acre YO Ranch, and served as its general manager; and
WHEREAS, Mr.Schreiner founded an apprentice hunters program while a board member of Safari Club International; he volunteered his service as a director of the Exotic Wildlife Association and the Texas Wildlife Association and established a youth hunt on the YO Ranch; his related responsibilities included directorships with the YO Land & Cattle Company and Woodbury Taxidermy; and
WHEREAS, This generous individual was known for his zest for life; he was a faithful congregant of First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, a coach and director of the Kerrville Little League, and a Kerr County YMCA football coach; he was also involved with the San Antonio German Club, the Order of the Alamo, and Las Cazadores; and
WHEREAS, Although his life was cut tragically short, Mr.Schreiner touched the lives of many people, and his devotion to his family and his community and the contributions he made to them will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas Legislature hereby honor the memory of Louis Albert "Louie" Schreiner II and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Chrisie Schreiner; to his children, Louis Griffin, Lee Barton, and Luke Phillips Schreiner; to his stepmother, Karol Schreiner; to his brothers and sistersinlaw, Charles Schreiner IV and Mary Helen Schreiner, Walter R. and Teri Schreiner, Gus L. and Lori Schreiner; to his stepsister, Deborah James; to his parentsinlaw, Arthur and Jeannette Sitterle; and to the many other relatives and friends of this fine man; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Louis Albert Schreiner II.
