1. Entrants submitting videos for the contest must be University of Wisconsin-Madison students who participated on an International Academic Programs (IAP) sponsored study abroad program during 2011 or 2012.

2. Video entries must be the original work of the Entrant and must contain at least some video footage taken outside the United States. Preference will be given to videos taken at IAP program sites.

3. Entries must be submitted in digital format. Entries are to be uploaded to MyWebspace and submitted via email to . Instructions are available online at www.studyabroad.wisc.edu and via . Eligible participants may submit up to three separate video entries of one to three minutes in length.

4. Each email entry must have the following items included for each video:

a)  title of work

b)  complete name(s) of videographer(s)

c)  date and primary location(s) of video

d)  your study abroad program

e)  MyWebspace URL link

f)  When submitting via email, please write “Video Contest” in the subject line.

5. Please save each video as your first initial, last name, primary location of video, and a short version of the video’s title. Ex: A. Smith, Aix-en-Provence France, How to Speak French.

6. All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form, completed and signed by the entrant. These must be turned in as an electronic attachment with the submission email.

7. One 1st place prize will be awarded for each contest deadline. One award maximum per entrant will be awarded. Winners may be contacted and asked for more information about the winning entries.

8. Entrants understand that video submissions will not be returned to entrants.

9. Entries may not contain the following: alcohol, drugs, or any kind of illegal or inappropriate behavior. Entries that contain any inappropriate material will be disqualified.

10. By signing and submitting the entry form, entrants are agreeing to grant International Academic Programs and the University of Wisconsin-Madison the unconditional and perpetual right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, publicly perform, adapt, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse (without limitation as to when or to the number of times used), the Entrant’s name, image, voice, likeness, statements, biographical material and Submission, including, but not limited to, the video or digital recording and performances contained in any of the above items (in each case, as submitted or as edited/modified in any way by IAP, in IAP’s sole discretion), as well as any additional photographic images, video images, portraits, interviews or other materials relating to the Entrant and arising out of his/her participation in this Contest whether with or without using the Entrant’s name (collectively, the “Additional Materials”) in any media throughout the world for any purpose related to the Contest, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from the Entrant or any other party. Entrant thereby releases and discharges the University from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the entry or the additional materials, including without limitation any and all claims for invasion of privacy.

11. Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity and originality, and the quality of the image. All decisions of the judges are final. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the stated contest rules and criteria.

12. Deadline for entries will occur on April 20, 2012; July 20, 2012; and December 7, 2012. Judging will be completed and winners notified electronically thereafter.
