We are excited to announce the 52nd Annual Paducah Tilghman Track & Field Invitational, scheduled for April 23, 2011 at Paducah Tilghman High School. This historical event will have new chapters written as we recruit the best talent across the Mid-West. The eight-lane track, along with the Finishlynx timing system, should provide an atmosphere for a great meet on the best outdoor track facility in Kentucky.

The entry fee forms must be e-mailed, postmarked or faxed no later thanApril 11, 2011.There will be a discount for those who send their entries on Hytek via e-mail.When completing entry forms, please be as accurate as possible in reporting times, heights, and distances. When marking entries remember:

  • Only one relay team can be entered for each scheduled relay.
  • Only two entries from each team may compete in an individual event.
  • An athlete may enter a maximum of four (4) events.
  • You can have a A/B Team, but the price will be $150.00

All running events will be heats against time.

Entry Fees: Hardcopy Entries: $85 per team or $160 for both boys and girls teams.

HYTEK Entries: $75 per team or $140 for both boys and girls teams. Individuals: $10 per individual with a school representative.

Facilities: McRight Stadium, on the campus of PaducahTilghmanHigh School, is the site for this prestigious meet. The stadium houses the beautiful blue track of the Tilghman Tornado which is considered one of the premier track complexes in all of Kentucky. Field event runways and pits are safe and in excellent condition. Trained officials, in adequate numbers, will supervise the meet.

Sanctioned: This event is sanctioned by both the KHSAA and the NFHS.

Time of Meet: Weigh-ins begins at 9:00 AM with a coaches meeting at 9:30 AM. Events will begin at 10:00 AM.

Running Events:All running events will be run as heats against time.

Relay Cards:Cards will be in your packet on the day of the meet and you may make individual changes at the officials meeting. Any of the six runners on the card are eligible to run if they are not in over 3 other events.

Entries:Entries are to be submitted prior to 4:00 PM CST on April 11, 2011. No individual may compete in more than four (4) events. An official of the school represented must accompany individual participants and all teams. Scratches and changes may be made at the officials meeting.

Timing:Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) devices will be used at the meet.

Officials: Certified officials will be present for any needed rulings or appeals. A Jury of Appeals will also be named for questioning referee/judges decisions. Let the athletic director, Dwayne Wall know if you would like to participate on the Jury of Appeals. An appropriate number of judges and officials will be present to insure a fair and impartial meet.

Scoring:Points will be awarded for every event as follows: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. Ties will be awarded according to the KHSAA rulebook. HyTek scoring will be used and should allow for quick written results to teams and media after the meet is over.

Awards:*********The top three finishers will receive an Invitational T-Shirt and first place finishers will receive a medal or other special award. The top four teams will receive a trophy. A special award will be given to the top male and female performers of the meet.

Schedule: The schedule will be followed as closely as possible. No event will start before the scheduled time, unless inclement weather exists and the games committee or referee amends the schedule. Participants who are in a field event and a concurrent running event must check out with the field judge and receive instructions as to when he/she is to return.

Implements: Implements and pole-vaulters in field events must be weighed in at the alternate pole vault pit starting at 9:00AM.

Warm-ups: The track will be open at 8:00 AM for running warm-ups. No one may warm-up or practice a field event until a judge or track official is present. This rule is especially important in the discus and pole vault.

Coaching:KHSAA rules prohibit coaches from assisting their participant in any way during events. A coaching box will be available for the pole vault and one coach may sit in that area to consult with the vaulter. He/she must stay in that area or return to the stands. All other coaches must remain in the stands unless they are officiating or were asked to come on the field by an official or meet director. Coaches who chose to be in the discus area must refrain from coaching their participant. Only one warning will be given.

New Rules: The new KHSAA rules for this upcoming year will be available in your packet the day of the meet. Some rules in Kentucky may be different than those in other states.
