To *Hilin Peredur during the 2013 breeding season, via cooled shipped semen. Mare owner will pay a stallion service fee of $650, which includes the $100.00 booking fee. The booking fee is payable with this contract and reserves a shipped semen breeding for said season. Booking fee is non-refundable and will not be applied to a breeding during subsequent seasons.
A.I. (Artificial Insemination)
Semen will not be shipped prior to payment of the booking fee and balance of the stallion service fee. Collection fee: $200 + Shipping. There is a $45.00 (1st trip charge to be paid with Stud fee) for each transport of the stallion to Dr. Newton’s for collection. In the event that the first collection fails and that additional collections are desired by the mare owner, up to three (3) total collections will be given for the stud fee herein by the stallion, *Hilin Peredur.All veterinarian fees will be paid to the attending veterinarian prior to each collection, by means of credit card, certified check or cash.

The breeding season shall commence on March 1 and continue to September 1. When mare is ready for breeding, contact should be made to:
Dr. Newton at 804-784-0595, at least 24 hours prior to the requested collection date, no later than 10 AM on the day before collection.
The mare owner agrees to use the shipped semen to breed only the designated mare in accordance with this contract.
If the mare is determined to be unsuitable for breeding, the mare owner may substitute a new mare, with prior approval and a written statement from a licensed veterinarian that said mare is unbreedable. The substitute mare shall be bred under the same terms and conditions as the original mare, as stated in this contract.
The semen transport container must be opened and artificial insemination performed ONLY by a licensed veterinarian.
Live Cover
The mare to be bred should be healthy and in sound breeding condition . Coggins required with delivery of mare. Clean culture on a case by case basis.
Mares must be up to date on all vaccinations. Mares must be halter broke. Foxmor Farm/ Little Hawk Farm reserves the right to refuse to live cover any mare that poses a danger to the stallion, in that case, mare can be bred by A.I. if mare owner so chooses.(See trip charges and Dr Newton’s fees under A.I. section)
Little Hawk Farm/Dr Newton’s fees: Open mares $20.00/ day board, Mares with foals $25.00 / day board.
This contract provides for a return breeding for the following season for said mare (or agreed upon substitute) that fails to produce a live foal. “Live Foal” is defined as one that stands and nurses. This will be satisfied by re-shipping semen at the mare owner’s expense (collection and shipping fees) or a return of said mare to Little Hawk Farm for the following season for live cover. In the event no live foal is produced, we must be notified in writing by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of birth.
Foxmor Farm, Little Hawk Farm and their employees shall not be responsible or liable for illness, accident or injury to your mare or foal and you shall not be responsible or liable for accident or injury to the stallion should your mare and/or foal reside at Little Hawk Farm.
To become valid and binding this contract must be signed by both parties and the original on file at Foxmor Farm.
