Enclosed is all of the information necessary to start your early childhood or elementary class on a path towards discovery, inquiry, and student-centered education. This system is designed for the age group that asks “How” and “Why”. With this program, teachers can turn their classroom into a technology-friendly environment. Although state mandated standardized tests for technology do not begin until the eighth grade, familiarizing students with the proper use of technology at a young age is the necessary first step for success. The world of today is filled with endless possibilities; many impossible tasks are made possible with the help of technology. While technology is helpful and resourceful, it can still be scary to those who are not familiar with its valuable uses. However, it doesn’t have to be. With this program, teachers and students will feel at home in front of a computer, behind a digital camera, or with a stylus in hand at a SMART Board.

Teaching with technology is important, as shown through the NET Standards, and the NJCCCS. In order to successfully incorporate technology, educators need a system that focuses on the standards. The system enclosed covers a wide range of standards through hands-on and engaging lessons.

The detailed rubrics for each lesson provide the educator with an assessment package that focuses on important details while still allowing room for creativity and imagination. The spreadsheet that educators are provided with in this program allows the teachers to plug in scores and grades. After the database entry is complete, the spreadsheet creates charts and graphs to help the educator visualize the success of the lesson, and allows the teacher to see what their next step in instruction will be.

The lesson plans include high level thinking, qualitative expectations, and student-guided discoveries that integrate subjects and work across the curriculum. The technology checklist includes websites for instructors to turn to in case they need help or desire to learn more about the technology that is being utilized. This technology package allows every teacher to become an expert in answering all of their students’ “how” and “why” questions that they encounter in their early childhood and elementary classroom.

Conclusively, I hope this program finds its way into your curriculum. It will make your educators’ lives easier while their students are able to enjoy the wonderful world of technology in a safe, educational way. Consider this package every student’s guide to success for today and opportunities for tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Michelle Loconte
