Australiae clue game bye Kailou.

Story #1

  1. Hello my name is Abby and I live in Perth. My cousin lives in Sydney because he says he likes the open forest and the temperate air. So me and my family decided to visit him, so we traveled by train across land until we hit the Great Australian Bight when across the Bight which town do you think we where in? And what was it like there?
  2. We then decided to travel the rest of the way to Sydney along the River Murray then split of up into the Darling River which will take us the rest of the way. How long (in miles) will we have to travel on these rivers? (the last map has a scale.)
  3. Once we arrived we made a horrifying discovery; the government had taken our dear cousin Alex to the war raging near a rock in the middle of a range in the bottom half of the Northern Territory. What is this rock called?
  4. We have made up our minds to go see him in the army and maybe even try and rescue him. We have also made up our minds of how were going to get there. We’re going to travel up and through the Great Artesian Basin and into Queensland then cut strait in-between MacDonnell Range and Simpson Desert. Look and see what vegetation and climate we will be traveling through then tell us what kinds of clothes to buy in the Brisbane market. Remember its summertime so take that into account.
  5. Uh oh, it looks like we ran out of money. Where would be the best place on our route and south of Darwin to work on a dry land agriculture farm?
  6. Ok we have snuck Alex away from the camp and are very happy to see him but have no time to rejoice. We have to get away before the other soldiers find us! We have been running west for a couple of days now and are in a desert what desert is this? In the distance we can see a range what range is this? We have been thinking and have decided the best place for us to hide would be a bay what is the nearest bay for us to hide in called?
  7. It turns out the bay you helped us pick is REALLY PRETTY so we have decided to move there and live there permanently. so we hired some movers to fetch food for us. how should we tell them to get here from their port in Darwin? And what kind of packaging should they use one the boxes according to the weather and vegetation?
  8. This is very grave news that has come to us; our transporters were ambushed and all we know of our precious food is that it was “taken back to where most of it came from, which is an island that you must cross a huge reef to get to. Do you have any idea were they took the food?
  9. We have decided we need to go get our food back on our own so we are going to rent a boat. But instead of going to the island the quickest way we are going to loop around the whole of Europe to get there. What cities are on the shore that we will pass and how far is the trip going to be so I know how much gas to buy.
  10. Well I’m so glad to finally be away from that accursed island but the bad news is as soon as we docked at Cape York Peninsula to get some new clothes our rented boat was stolen! I guess we are going to have to get back home on land. We walked south and had to cross 3 main rivers we then turned west and traveled by train 1200 miles then get off at a small station. how far are we from home?

Thanks for helping us we made it home safe and sound and lived happily ever after J

The End

Story #2

  1. Hello my names Cathy, I’m a girl who lives in a city. This is how you get there: go north 300 miles from the capitol and you will find a city where you can stock up on food and water. You’ll need it because then you need to keep traveling northward across the border into Queensland and you will eventually hit the only city in Australia with a warm and humid climate. That’s my city!!!
  2. Why I’m telling you this Mr. Detective is because my whole family has gone missing; one day I was gathering mushrooms for the market the next day. When I got back home to our humble cottage I found that they where gone and hadn’t taken any of our money with them! I can’t pay you but I REALLY need help! But I’m not in my hometown, I fled from there when I found they where missing. Where I’m writing you this letter from is another 1600 miles from my village and I’m very hot but it is very beautiful, I am surrounded by woodland, open forest, and some herbland.
  3. Just received a ransom note and there is no way I could pay that much however there were some clues in it. the paper was shriveled from very high altitudes and cold weather, what do you think that means?
  4. I just got another ransom note but this one was written on the back of a receipt for a ferry on its way through the Bass Straits!!! It also had some notes on the back calculating the distance of 400 kilometers into miles and how much money it would cost for five passengers to travel that far by way of bus to the nearest city! Where do you think these horrible captives are heading for?
  5. As I was traveling to where I suspected my parents might be taken, I saw a plane fly overhead and from it dropped a necklace. It was my mothers, I gave it to her for her last birthday! As the plane flew away I noticed it had gear for landing in water…hmmmm that’s funny it’s headed inland, not towards the sea, I wonder where it’s going?
  6. As I arrived at what I suspected to be the captive’s new destination I was just in time to see it fly off again completely refueled! I talked to the man at the pump that had refueled them and he said he had heard them mutter something about needing to buy large water containers and new equipment for landing the plane on sand. Hmmmmm, where could they be headed know?
  7. As I walked in the direction the plane had been heading I saw a HUGE rock and several parachutes spiraling down towards it but in between the rock and me was a huge ______what was between the rock and me and what was the rock called?
  8. I finally rescued my parents at the rock and we escaped to the east and to a land that was hardly used. What territory is this in the south east corner of?
  9. We need a new place to live where the captives won’t find us. We travel to Lake Eyre Basin, then to the gulf that looks like a crab claw, where are we going to live. What kinds of clothes will we need for this climate?
  10. This is how you get to my new home from the capitol: go along the Murray River then when you hit ______city keep going along the coast another 100 miles. Welcome to my home!

P.S. why am I still writing you I solved the whole mystery on my own, where were you? (no that’s not question #21 J)
