Sent them a draft press release.

  • Andy will work on updating the press release and send it out tonight.

  • Volunteers should arrive at 10am on May 9th
  • Panelists: We need to confirm what time they should show up
  • Captain fairtrade with his “coffee buddy” should show up and do promo on the streets of whyte.ave
  • Anita received the stickers and buttons and FTC items.

  • Put the stores on our Website that have emailed they have 2 or more products (ken send to Elauna).
  • FYI: Fairtrade wines from South Africa, Chile, Argentina
  • Maybe we should give the speakers a fairtrade wine – or a gift from Ten Thousand Villages.

Social Media:

  • Robin created a Hoot Sweet account – allows you to create tweets ahead of time to be send out on a schedule.
  • Robin will update the twitter page (then send it to the committee to give a thumbs up). Tweet out the speaker bios and link to MEC and the speakers
  • Option: Can pay $9 a month to get analytics of our stats
  • Other Hagtags to use include: #YEGeats #YEGevents
  • Anita or Micheal will send the horizontal event image to everyone.
  • Option: Can pay for a sponsored tweet or faceboook advertising (not a lot but incredibly effective).
  • Send Robin photos when possible so she can tweet out.
  • Any companies want to have a shout out on twitter?
  • City’s social media crew will promote our event on their social media.
  • If we can get a confirmation from the city counsellor attending – it should go in the press release.

  • Andy will pay the insurance direct, then show us the receipt, and Ten Thousand will reimburse the amount of $200.
  • Need to be out by 1:00pm on May 9th
  • End the event by sending people out to visit Ten Thousand and Thrival etc.
  • Anita got us access to a table at the farmers market, we will put a poster there, it would be good to have a volunteer to be there too. Reed can stop in once and a while since he will be in the vicinity.
  • Next meeting the 27th of May.
  • Michael will not be there on the 27th so Reed will book a location on campus.
  • Debrief after the event …somewhere…with beer?
