Call for Presentations
The ConnecticutLand Conservation Council (CLCC) invites you to submit a workshop proposal for its 2012 Annual CT Land Conservation Conference, the state’s largest annual land conservation gathering. The conference will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012from 9am to 4pm. This is a great opportunity to increase your visibility within the land conservation field!
The conference consistently attracts more than 200 people, including board members, staff and volunteers from Connecticut’s many land trusts and conservation organizations, as well as people involved with town Conservation, Inland Wetlands, and Planning and Zoning Commissions and private groups with conservation missions including garden clubs and grassroots advocates.
The conferencewill offer 24 workshops across one morning and two afternoon sessions. The workshops will be preceded by a keynote speaker in the morning. Workshops are 90 minuteslong, with up to 45 people attending each. We are also open to workshop proposals for half-day trainings (3 hours) on issues that benefit from a more in-depth treatment. Panels and/or roundtable discussions are also welcome.
This year’s conference will highlightcommunity engagement andwe would like to see workshop proposals addressing this, particularly through peer examples. Other topicswe are interested in include:
- Advocacy
- Stewardship (monitoring, land management, easement baseline reports, etc.)
- Organizational Capacity Development
- Fundraising
- Outreach, Education and Communications
- Leadership (board and staff)
- Land Conservation Transactions
Proposalsare due by December 30, 2011. The Conference Committee will contact you in mid-January to let you know if your proposal has been selected. You will need to submit a final session descriptionand speaker biography. You will receive complimentary conference registration, but are responsible for your travel and accommodation expenses.

Please provide a clear description of the workshop including proposed title, the category and skill level it is aimed at (basic or advanced), three learning objectives and information about your qualifications(and that of any co-presenters).
