Slide 3 - Oracle Manufacturing Cloud Release 11
Slide notes
Hello, my name is Alexander Vaidhyan. Welcome to the Release Training for the new Oracle Manufacturing cloud in Release 11. In this session, we’ll introduce you to the new product capabilities of Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence, OTBI in short, for Discrete Manufacturing.
Notes
Slide 4 - Agenda
Slide notes
We’ll give an overview of what Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) for Discrete manufacturing offers, followed by a more detailed explanation on how you can use them, and what business value they bring. Then, we’ll walk you through a demonstration to show how to create a custom analysis for Fusion Manufacturing.

Slide 5 - Introducing OTBI for Discrete Manufacturing
Slide notes
OTBI for Discrete Manufacturing is available in Release 11.
OTBI offers real time, self service reporting directly off the transactional tables. There is no data movement from Fusion applications to BI application.
In this release, 4 new subject areas have been introduced to support custom analysis of Discrete Manufacturing.
These subject areas support analysis of both In-house manufacturing and Contract manufacturing work orders and their transactions.
The dimensions and measures in these subject areas provide visibility to both work order management and work execution transactions.
OTBI is built on the top of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition platform.

Slide notes
OTBI provides strategic insight into the business, addressing questions about operational responsibilities of the Production Supervisor.
OTBI can be used to answer several questions related to work order management, operation transactions, material usage transactions and resource usage transactions. The above table shows some of the typical questions that OTBI can answer. Please take some time to review it before moving on.

Slide 7 - Subject Area: Work Order Performance Real Time
Slide notes
The work order performance real-time subject area provides real time information from the work order objects. The dimensions in this subject area consist of both work order level attributes and operation level attributes. The level of abstraction of data depends upon which attributes are included in the analysis. As an example, the completed quantity measure will display either the completed quantity in the work order or the operation completion quantity, depending upon which dimensions were chosen to be included in the analysis.
Some of the measures in this subject area are:
• Work order attributes,
• Operation attributes such as Ready, Completed, Scrap and Rejected quantities,
• Work order aging attributes, and
• Over completion attributes, among others.

Slide notes
The results of an analysis can be viewed in a simple table format or in the form of graphical objects like bar charts, pie charts, among others. OTBI provides a wide variety of visualization options to view the output of an analysis. Further, the analysis report can be published to a dashboard so as to conveniently view all the information in one place when the production supervisor logs into the application.

This table summarizes the folders which hold the different dimensions in the Work Order Performance Real Time subject area.
The Time of Planned Start Date allows you to add attributes which time bucket the analysis based on the Work Order's start date.
The Manufacturing Organization allows you to add the manufacturing organization attributes to the analysis.
The Work Order, Work Order Status and Product folders provide attributes related to the work order header.
The Work Order Operations, Manufacturing Work Center and Operation Transaction Details folders provide attributes from the Operation level of the work order.

The measures in this subject area consists of Work order level quantities, Operation level quantities and their percentages, Work order counts and Work order Aging buckets.
Notes
Slide 11 - Subject Area: Material Usage Real Time
Slide notes
The Material Usage Real Time subject area provides real time information of component transactions of a work order operation. This subject area can be used to analyze components transactions such as material issues and material returns against the work order. The measures in this subject area are related to component quantities and their usages.

Slide 20 - Manufacturing OTBI
Slide notes
Now, let us look at the business value offered by this feature. OTBI provides real time information of discrete manufacturing execution. There is no latency, no persistent data store, and reporting is directly off Fusion transactional data. It can be used for ad-hoc analysis using OBIEE platform. OTBI requires minimal configuration and leverages the Fusion data security framework by securing data at the manufacturing plant level.
Measures exposed in the various subject areas are pre-calculated, but it is also possible to manually add new calculated measures. OTBI follows a common semantic model by using unified definition of key entities such as Date, Item, Organization and Work Order. Standard OBIEE features such as different graph types, export to Excel or .html, and Alerts framework are also available for analysis of Discrete Manufacturing reports.

Slide 268 - Summary of Capabilities
Slide notes
Here is the summary of the features I have talked about today. OTBI allows users to build custom analysis using the following manufacturing related subject areas:
• The Work Order Performance Real Time subject area provides real time information about work order management and work execution transactions.
• The Material Usage Real Time subject area provides real time information about material usage on work orders.
• The Resource Usage Real Time subject area provides real time information about resource usage on work orders.
• And, the actual production Real Time subject area provides real time information about work order completions into inventory.

In this implementation advice section, we will go through what you need to consider before enabling these features in your business, and what you need to know to set them up.
Notes
Slide 270 - Feature Impact Guidelines
Slide notes
This table depicts key implementation information for the features covered in this training.
In this release, there are no pre-built reports shipped with the application.
All the four subject areas are automatically available to a user who is provisioned with the Production Supervisor role.
No additional setups are required to build custom reports.
