But just as happened last year the semi-finals and final were played in very wet conditions,

but the kids soldiered on, and never complained.

Billy played Elliott and James against Almondbury team mate Cameron.

Both semi-finals were close affairs but the weather took a hand in deciding who won.

Elliott got the block at 12-6 down against young Billy, when the heavens opened up,

And Elliott ran out a 15-12 winner.

Likewise in the other semi final James got the block at a crucial stage against Cameron,

And coped with the conditions a lot better than Cameron, with James winning 15-12.

In the final the rain got heavier and heavier.

Both James and Elliott braved the conditions along with referee Geoff Martin.

Both players matched each other in the first few ends, but as the conditions worsened,

Elliot took command and James had no answer to the long marks Elliott bowled and

Elliott ran out a 21-7 winner.

Junior Secetary Geoff Martin presented The Wrathall Trophy to Elliott and thanked referee

Norma Maxwell, and everyone at Brockholes Bowling Club for helping out on the day.

The sponsors Jean and Frank Wrathall.
