Security Operations Policy
Selected Senior roles in Fire & Rescue NSW require security clearance to access classified information and documents that may impact FRNSW operations. This clearance gives staff the ability to access Commonwealth documents marked as Secret, Confidential or Restricted. The roles that require staff to hold security clearance and further information regarding the security classifications are now available in the intranet in theSecurity Operations Policy.
Who needs to read this?
This policy applies to selected senior roles within FRNSW listed in the policy. Staff listed in the policy should be aware of the contents of the policy and how the documents are to be stored and distributed.

Leading Firefighter Program
Call for applications
Applications are invited from Senior Firefighters for Leading Firefighter Program (LFP) in accordance with Clause 13.7 of the Crown Employees (Fire and Rescue NSW Permanent Firefighting Staff) Award 2016.
Eligibility
An eligible applicant shall be a Senior Firefighter who:
- has completed at least twenty-four (24) months service with Fire and Rescue NSW at Senior Firefighter rank as of the closing date for applications, and
- has already taken the tests referred in Clause 13.7 of the Crown Employees (Fire and Rescue NSW Permanent Firefighting Staff) Award 2016 prior to the close of applications, and
- is permanently attached to a station within the Transfer Register area in which the Leading Firefighter Program position is available.

There are 19 LFP positions now available.
11 LFP positions, in total, are currently available within the following Regional Transfer Register areas –
Blue Mountains Transfer Register area – 3 positions
Central Coast Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Illawarra Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Maitland Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Newcastle Transfer Register area – 2 positions
8 LFP positions, in total, are currently available within the following Regional Transfer Register areas –
Coffs Harbour Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Nowra Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Port Macquarie Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Queanbeyan Transfer Register area – 2 positions
Selection
Selection for placement on the LFP shall be determined by order of the Leading Firefighter Test results achieved by the applicants for the LFP positions.
