The goal of Twin Oaks High School is to create and foster a climate of success so that all students attain the Expected School-wide Learning Results. Every student at Twin Oaks High strives to be:
Technologically Skilled: Our students will demonstrate a broad level of technological competence expected within the community, workplace, and post-secondary education.
Integrity Driven: Our students take ownership of their behavior and academic outcomes. They will demonstrate ethical behaviors and move toward the achievement of attainable goals.
Goal Oriented: Our students are vested in putting forth a sincere and honest effort into planning and pursuing their educational and life plans.

Twin Oaks High School will provide opportunities for students, through alternative means, to become responsible contributors to the community by fulfilling graduation requirements in preparation for entering post-secondary education and/or the world of work.

DECLARACIÓN DE MISIÓN
Twin Oaks High School proporcionará oportunidades a los estudiantes através de medios alternativos, para hacer contribuidores responsables para la comunidad, para prepáralos con los requerimientos para entrar a la educación post secundaria y el mundo de trabajo.

TOHS Classroom Expectations: “The Tiger Way”
1) Be on time: Be at school on time EVERY DAY and be in class ready to learn when class begins.
2) Be respectful: Show respect for yourself, your classmates, and your teachers. Do not interrupt other students’ learning.
3) Be prepared: Bring your classroom materials with you to class every day (e.g., binder, pens/pencils, paper, etc.).
4) Be wise with your words: Inappropriate language is not permitted in any classroom or at any time on campus.
5) Be productive: Be involved in your education. Do your schoolwork and allow other to do theirs.
6) Leave food and drinks outside: Help keep classrooms clean! Only water is acceptable.
7) Take pride in your grooming… But not IN the classrooms: No putting on make-up and remember no hoods are allowed in the classroom.
8) Focus on learning: All iPods, cell phones, and other electronic devices must be turned off and put away while the teacher is talking and may be used only with teacher permission.

EXPECTATIVAS DE CLASE
1) Estar a tiempo: Llegar a la escuela a tiempo TODOS LOS DÍAS y estar en clase listo para aprender cuando comienza la clase.
2) Ser respetuoso: Mostrar respeto asimismo, a sus compañeros de clase y a sus profesores. No interrumpir el aprendizaje de los otros estudiantes.
3) Estar preparado: Traer sus materiales del salón con usted a la clase (por ejemplo, carpetas, bolígrafos y lápices, papel, etc.).
4) Ser sabio con sus palabras: Lenguaje inadecuado no está permitido en ningun salón o en cualquier momento en el plantel.
5) Ser productivo: Comprométete en tú educación. Haz tus tareas escolares y permite a otros que hagan la suya.
6) Dejar la comida y bebidas fuera: ¡Ayuda a mantener las salones limpios! Sólo el agua es aceptable.
7) Orgullosos de su persona… Pero no en los salones: No poner en el salón maquillaje y recuerde ningún sombrero está permitido en el salón.
8) Concentrarse en el aprendizaje: Todos los iPods, teléfonos celulares y otros dispositivos electrónicos deben ser desactivados y guardados, mientras que el profesor está hablando solo puede ser usado con permiso de profesor.

Attendance
Bottom Line: Attendance until age 18 is mandatory by law. Daily attendance is one of the MOST IMPORTANT factors in a student’s success at Twin Oaks High School!
Absences
When a student misses school, the parent/guardian needs to contact TOHS office personnel to clear the absence before 9:00 a.m. Absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence or else the absence is considered truancy. TOHS does not acknowledge notes (other than from a doctor) to clear absences. Students who do not attend school regularly will face progressive discipline procedures, lose freedoms, be at risk for graduation, and be placed on a behavior contract. Some cases will be referred to the School Attendance Review Board or the juvenile court system.
Tardy Policy & Lockout
Twin Oaks High School staff takes tardiness very seriously and encourages all parents/guardians that provide transportation to get their students to school on time. If a student comes to school late, he/she must sign the daily attendance log located in the office. In order to reduce class disruptions, students that are late to school will attend lockout.
Leaving Campus During the Day
After arriving at school, students are not allowed to leave campus before or during school hours. Verification (by office personnel) from a parent or guardian is required before a student leaves campus. Parents/Guardians need to sign their students out on the daily attendance log located in the office. If the student returns, he/she must check-in at the office.

Asistencia
Asistencia hasta la edad de 18 años es obligatoria por ley. ¡Asistencia diaria es uno de los factores más importante en el éxito del estudiante en la escuela Twin Oaks!
Ausencias
Cuando un estudiante esté ausente, el padre o tutor debe ponerse en contacto con el personal de la Oficina TOHS antes de 9:00 a.m. Ausencias deben de ser justificadas en un tiempo de 48 horas o si no la ausencia sera considerada falta no justificada. TOHS no reconoce notas (solo las-de doctores) para justificar ausencias. Estudiantes que no asistan a la escuela regularmente enfrentaran procedimientos progresivos de diciplina como, perdida de privilegios, estar a riesgo de graduarse y de ser puesto en un contrato de diciplina. Algunos casos seran referidos al School Attendance Review Board o al sistema de corte juvenil (juvenile court system).
Pólizas de Tardanza y Detención Temporal (Lockout)
El personal de Twin Oaks High School toma las tardanzas seriamente y fomenta a los padres a que den transportación a sus hijos para estar a tiempo en la escuela. Sí un estudiante llega tarde a la escuela, él o ella deberán firmar la hoja diaria de asistencia localizada en la oficina. De manera de reducir las interrupciones a la clase, los estudiantes que llegan tarde estarán en una detención temporal (lockout).
Salidas del Plantel Durante el Día
Después de llegar a la escuela, los estudiantes no pueden salir del plantel antes o durante horario escolar. Es requerida una verificación (por personal de oficina) del padre o tutor antes de salir del plantel. Padres o tutores necesitan firmar la salida de sus estudiantes en la hoja diaria de asistencia en la oficina. Sí el estudiante regresa, él o ella deberán firmar su regreso en la oficina.
