Key expert 1 (KE1): Energy Expert #1 and Team Leader (TL) – Approx. 350 days over three years

The TL shall be responsible for the delivery of all services and deliverables under this contract. The TL will supervise the team mobilised for the production of deliverables under the three activities, ensure quality management, and timely corrective action as required.

KE1 will be in priority responsible for activities of the energy programme in Francophone countries.

Qualifications and skills

§  Education of at least a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering /Science related to Energy;

§  Additional degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance or Management would be an advantage;

§  Full fluency in written and spoken English and French;

§  Computer literacy;

§  Pro-active personality, and excellent communication and inter-personal skills;

§  Willingness to travel to (and interest in) the target region and countries.

General professional experience

§  At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in energy project or programme management;

§  At least 5 years of relevant international[1] professional experience in developing countries, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa, and working with the Bottom-Of Pyramid and rural settings;

§  At least 5 years of professional experience as project team leader;

§  Demonstrable ability to work in a multicultural environment;

§  Demonstrable ability to work independently, as well as in good cooperation with team members.

Specific professional experience

§  At least 5 years of professional experience in the fields of renewable (preferably solar) technology supply, logistics and renewable energy business development;

§  At least 3 years relevant professional experience as engineer covering energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects. Demonstrated ability to performed combined technical, economic & financial, environmental & social appraisal of projects is preferable;

§  Professional experience as engineer in energy auditing or project evaluation would be an advantage.

Key expert 2: Energy Expert #2 – Approx. 220 days over three years

KE2 will be in priority responsible for activities in the energy programme in Anglophone countries.

Qualifications and skills

§  Education of at least a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Science related to Energy;

§  Additional degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance or Management would be an advantage;

§  Full fluency in written and spoken English and French;

§  Computer literacy;
