FIXED ASSET/INVENTORY SPECIALIST

Qualifications:High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate as required by Kentucky law.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Gather sufficient information to accurately and completely inventory theDistrict’s assetsaccording to established policies and procedures.
  1. Assure that all assetsare identified with proper tags at time asset is received according to established policies and procedures.
  1. Maintain and update current asset inventory in the district’s computer accounting system (MUNIS) including additions, corrections, transfers, and retirements/disposals.
  1. Regularly perform and schedule a complete asset audit/inventory of each location according to established policies and procedures.
  1. Deliver and pick-up a variety of items to/from schools and other sites within the District; pick-up items for storage, repair, and disposal. Provide a detailed list of Surplus Assets to Director of Facilities. Frequently lift 20-40 pounds; occasionally lift over 40 pounds.
  1. Receive, assemble and deliver new assets. Occasionally some new assets may require some assembly.
  1. Communicate with district and site administrators as well as faculty regarding the status and condition of district assets;answer questions concerning district’s inventory procedures as needed.
  1. Inventory, analyze and schedule disposition of District records, as well as maintain a destruction record, noting the authorization for said destruction and the amount of records to be destroyed.
  1. Demonstrate knowledge of basic inventory practices, procedures and terminology.
  1. Observe safety and health regulations.
  1. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations by interacting effectively with and demonstrating respect for the views, rights and contributions of parents, teachers and other school personnel.
  1. Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
  1. Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
  1. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
  1. Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
  1. Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
  1. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Finance or Superintendent of Schools.
