RESOLUTION NO. 18-2013

INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR BLOMQUIST AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE

A RESOLUTION HONORING ROBERT R. HECKER FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS AS A MEMBER OF CITY COUNCIL AND EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY.

WHEREAS, Robert H. Hecker (Bob) was known for his lifelong residency in the City of Olmsted Falls, graduating from Olmsted Falls High School where he played football; and

WHEREAS, Bob Hecker returned to Olmsted Falls after service with the Navy during World War II and attended Baldwin-Wallace College; and

WHEREAS, Bob Hecker served the Village of Olmsted Falls as an elected Councilman for 16 years between 1949 and 1965, prior to Olmsted Falls merging with the Village of West View; and

WHEREAS, Bob Hecker was active in community groups including Kiwanis, Olmsted Community Church, Donauschwaben German Club, Olmsted Falls Historical Society, OFHS Booster Club, Stephen Ministry and Southwest General Hospital volunteer. Now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT:

SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council, on behalf all residents of the City of Olmsted Falls, do hereby express our sorrow and condolences to the family of Robert R. Hecker (Bob) and extend our heartfelt sympathy at our communal loss.

SECTION 2. The Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be spread upon the records of the City of Olmsted Falls, and issue a duplicate copy of this Resolution to the family of Robert R. Hecker in memory of his service to and accomplishments for the City.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect at the earliest time allowed by law.
