1.3SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Include the following for exterior systems. Edit to suit project requirements.
- Design Requirements: Design [exterior] systems to withstand:
- Design wind pressure in accordance with [ASCE 7,] [Building Code,] [____,] with maximum allowable deflection of L/175, tested in accordance with ASTM E330.
- Movement caused by an ambient temperature range of 120 degrees F and a surface temperature range of 160 degrees F.
Include the following for exterior systems.
- Performance Requirements:
- Air infiltration: Maximum 0.06 CFM per square foot of fixed area at static pressure differential of 6.24 PSF tested to ASTM E283.
- Water infiltration: No uncontrolled water leakage, tested to ASTM E331 at minimum test pressure of 8.0 PSF.
- Uniform structural loading: No glass breakage or permanent damage to fasteners or system components, tested to ASTM E330 at 1.5 times design pressure.
1.4SUBMITTALS
Limiting submittals to only those actually required helps to minimize liability arising from the review of submittals. Minimize submittals on smaller, less complex projects.
Include the following for submission of shop drawings, product data, and samples for the Architect's review.
- Submittals for Review:
- Shop Drawings: Include frame profiles and sizes, type and spacing of frame anchors, reinforcement size and locations, details of joints and connections, and welding details.
- Product Data: Include product description for storefront assemblies including bullet-resistant rating.
Include the following is a fluoropolymer finish is desired. Edit to suit project requirements.
- Samples: [2 x 2] [__ x __] inch coating samples [showing available colors.] [in specified color.]
Include the following for submission of sustainable design submittals.
- Sustainable Design Submittals:
- Recycled Content: Certify percentages of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content.
- Regional Materials: Indicate cost of products harvested, extracted, recovered, or manufactured within 500 mile radius of Project site.
Include the following for submission of closeout submittals on cleaning of glazing materials.
- Closeout Submittals:
- Maintenance Data: Include instructions for cleaning of glazed panels.
1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Storefront Assemblies: Defeat ballistic assaults from .44 magnum hand gun, Ballistic Level 3, tested to UL 752.
1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
- Do not cover with non vented coverings that create excessive humidity.
- Remove wet coverings immediately.
