I will adhere to the conditions listed in the fireworks sales ordinance as adopted by the Council of the City of Lynchburg, June 8, 1993.
This permit shall not be construed as authority to violate, cancel or set aside any other applicable Codes or Ordinances in the City of Lynchburg.

ATTACH INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION, SITE PLAN, TENT FIRE RESISTANCE RATING AND ANY OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO THIS APPLICATION.
1. A Fireworks Permit shall be obtained from the Zoning Official, Zoning & Natural Resources Division,
Community Development, with a copy to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
2. A certificate of fire resistance for any tents or other temporary structures shall be submitted to the
Building Official for approval.
3. The petitioner shall submit a site plan indicating the location of any temporary or permanent
structures to be used for the sale or display of fireworks and specifications of the tent or other
structures prior to obtaining building permit.
4. Adequate off-street parking spaces shall be provided on site.
5. A building permit shall be obtained prior to erecting any temporary structures.
6. The petitioner shall hold a valid local business license.
7. A permit and approval shall be obtained from the Inspections Division for the electric power service
and lighting within any temporary structures.
8. “No Smoking” signs shall be posted within any temporary structures used for the display and sale of
fireworks.
9. A total of no more than two (2) sales periods per location per calendar year shall be permitted.
10. The Fireworks Permit shall be valid for a maximum of thirty (30) days.
11. There shall be an interval of four (4) months between sales periods.
12. Outside sales and display of fireworks shall be permitted in B-3, B-4, and B-5 zoning districts.
13. Complete Insurance coverage shall be provided for the lot and for any person on it during the
temporary sales of fireworks.
14. Signs shall comply with the Zoning District in which the business is located.
15. A copy of Section 59.1-147 of the Code of Virginia, noting that “legal” fireworks may only be
used on private property with the consent of the owner of such property, shall be clearly displayed in
public view at all locations used for the sale of fireworks.
16. The display and sale of fireworks, including storage, shall adhere to the applicable provisions of the
Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Fire Prevention Code, and all other applicable state
and local ordinances/codes.
