JOB TITLE:Corporate Fundraiser

- MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To proactively develop, deliver and maximise corporate partnerships for Samaritans.
- POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Reports to Corporate Fundraising Manager.
Works closely with wider Corporate Partnerships and Training team
Liaises with other teams within Samaritans, particularly PR, Events, CommunicationsandFinance.
- SCOPE OF JOB
Account manages partnerships that have a net value of up to £50,000 per annum and provides both reactive support and proactive management.
Build effective networks and proactively explore options of new partnerships within the scope of the current new business strategy.
Manages payroll giving strategy and implements.
- DIMENSIONS AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
Personal income target from existing medium partnerships.
Personal new business target, currently £100,000.
Works to objectives set by line manager.
- QUALIFICATIONS
A-levels or Equivalent higher education essential.
Degree or equivalent desirable.
- EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years fundraising/sales and marketing experience is desirable.
Experience of independentlyworking to meet specific objectives.
Experience of working to and meeting targets.
Experience of giving a high level of customer care.
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of a wide range of fundraising mechanisms desirable, including CRM, COTY, sponsorship, brand association and strategic partnerships.
Ability to effectively negotiate with key contacts.
Capacity to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with key contacts.
High level of commercial awareness and professionalism.
Excellent presentation skills - presenting Samaritans’ work professionally to the corporate sector.
Effective time management skills.
Ability to build relationships which lead to income in a new business environment.
Adept at handing multiple priorities and tight deadlines with limited supervision.
Knowledge of partnership management processes and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills/Strong organisational skills essential.
Ability to represent Samaritans professionally, on the telephone and written communication.
Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office and experience with fundraising databases.
Part 2: DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business
Works in line with current new business strategy to achieve income plans, including managing specific areas of the pipeline process.
Co-ordinates pitches, including research, building relationships with key company personnel, writing proposals, developing and delivering presentations.
Works across the CP&T team, and wider High Value team, to foster warm relationships leading to partnership opportunities.
Keep up to date with current trends within the sector and implement where appropriate.
Maps current partners’ networks and looks to how our partners can leverage new opportunities.
Contributes to the creative development of new business strategy and processes.
Cross-sells opportunities from across Samaritans’ fundraising teams where appropriate.
Maintenance and deliveryof Corporate Partners
Account management of all partnerships that deliverunder£50,000 income annually.
Delivery of a variety of partnerships including COTY, Sponsorship and Training.
Planning of all medium and small partnerships, including setting achievable KPIs, key objectives, risk management and monitoring and evaluation framework.
Day to day account management of partnerships, reacting to key opportunities and delivering what has been agreed within set internal budgets.
Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with key individuals in these companies.
Management of budgets for all medium partnerships feeding up all risks to linemanager.
Implements payroll giving strategy and manages the function within Corporate Partnerships.
Ensures database is fully and regularly maintained with all relevant company information.
Team support
Covers telephones and enquiries in colleagues’ absence
Carries out any duties that may reasonably be required by line manager in the light of the main purpose of the job

Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Central Office as appropriate
Supports the management and development of Samaritans’ overall work by working in liaison with other teams and volunteers

Ensure professionalism and credibility at all times
Represent the Central Office appropriately across the Charity
