Merton Chamber shortlisted for the

RBS Inspiring Youth Enterprise initiative and they need your votes!

Merton Chamber propose to set up ‘Ambition’ a programme for young people led by young people to help them turn their ambition into reality. 100 young people in South West London will be supported to become the next generation of entrepreneurs...for this exciting programme to succeed, Merton Chamber needs your vote!

‘Ambition’ is one of 26 shortlistedorganisations nationally out of 250 applications to receive funding from the RBS initiative with the final decision to be made by public vote.

Speaking about the programme, Diana Sterck CEO of Merton Chamber believes that using traditional approaches to supporting people to set up in business need to be adapted for young people, “We want to set up a network that is for them, is led by them, works for them and supports them in developing their business ideas, starting up and establishing a business.

Diana went on to say, “The programme will include setting up a Board of Directors, running networking events and connecting and sharing views and experiences through social media and blogging. Merton Chamber of Commerce will directly support Ambition through facilitation of the programme, free membership subscriptions to help these fledgling businesses reach their market, connections with business leaders who will act as mentors and speakers at events and links with other sources of support for 13 to 30 year olds.”

Ambition should become a model of good practice for stimulating interest in and awareness of enterprise as well as a support mechanism for young people at a local level to go on and turn their ideas into reality and a sustainable business. Voting is now open so we urge you to support your local Chamber of Commerce and their new programme ‘Ambition’ and vote!

Please take 30 seconds to vote here > Voting closes at 12 noon on 14 November. Call Merton Chamber on 020 8944 5501 for more information.
