  • Compiles accurate data based on high level technical reports, securing information from federal, state, and local officials, and provides authoritative information which may commit the agency to a course of action.
  • Compiles pre-construction progress data based on technical reports and contacts with agency and local officials throughout the state.
  • Processes contractors' estimates for local construction.
  • Establishes procedures which implement operational policies.
  • Investigates possible delaying factors such as the status of relocation of electric, telephone, water, gas, and other utilities from rights-of-way and recommends corrective action required to eliminate delays.
  • Clears pre-construction projects for advertising.
  • Reviews project proposals; classifies projects for funding sources; prioritizes projects for administration.
  • Administers fixed capital outlay projects as assigned.
  • Approves final bid specifications and cost estimates.
  • Oversees the supervision and inspection of assigned projects performed by contractors or Florida Park Service staff for compliance with all approved specifications.

  • Ability to probe and obtain critical facts pertaining to the progress of projects in the pre-construction stage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in office management, office administration, accounting, personnel, purchasing, or building construction.
