National Certificate in Electronic Multimedia (Advanced)
Level
/ 4Credits
/ 65This qualification is expiring. The last date to meet the requirements is 31 December 2010.
Purpose
This qualification is for people both in training and in employment who have the National Certificate in Electronic Multimedia and who wish to advance their level of knowledge and skills. It also is designed to give them a chance to pursue a professional interest and develop their skills in a particular sphere of expertise.
It therefore has a compulsory core of standards, which the industry believes is essential to advanced training, and a range of elective standards.
Substantial portions of the qualification can be obtained in an off-job learning situation but parts of the core require the learner to be involved in the team work which is inherent in the production of a electronic multimedia title.
The multimedia advisory panel of the Film and Electronic Media Industry Training Organisation is developing a diploma in electronic multimedia towards which this certificate could lead. It is, however, a qualification which when obtained would indicate an advanced level of skills in itself and which would indicate on-the-job competence in the chosen areas of specialisation from the elective section.
