Meet information

Session 1: / Saturday 26th November / 1pm start
Session 2: / Saturday 3rd December / 1pm start

1. All events will be swum separately for males and females, with the exception of the Masters’ 50m freestyle event which may be combined males ad females

2. Age as on 3rd December 2016.

3. All events are heat declared winner. For each event, all age groups will swim together, the heats being seeded by times on the club website. Swimmers without a time for an event will be entered in the slower heats.

4. For each event there will be awards for the top six in each age group (top three males and top three females for the masters’ event), these swimmers also being awarded points (6 points for first place,5 points for second place, etc.) towards the top boy and top girl awards for each age group (presented at the Christmas disco).

5. The age groups for awards will be:

25m fly: 8 yrs & under

50m events: 8 yrs & under (not fly), 9 yrs, 10 yrs, 11 yrs, 12-13 yrs, 14 yrs+.

100m events: 12-13 yrs (see below), 14 yrs+.

100m IM: 8 yrs & under, 9 yrs, 10 yrs, 11 yrs

200m IM: 12-13 yrs, 14 yrs+

200m Free: 8 yrs & under, 9 yrs, 10 yrs, 11 yrs, 12-13 yrs, 14 yrs+.

Masters’ 50m freestyle event: 18 years+

6. The 100m single stroke events are open to swimmers aged 12 yrs and above. In addition, Gold & Silver Squad swimmers who will be age 11 yrs by 31 December 2017 may enter one or more 100m single stroke events. This younger group of swimmers will compete for medals in the 13 years and under age group, and will not receive points towards the top boy and top girl competitions in these events (the top six 12-13 yrs old swimmers in these events will receive points as usual).

7. Swimmers may enter one IM event. For swimmers aged 11 yrs & under this will be the 100IM; swimmers aged 12 yrs & above will enter the 200IM.

8. The entry fee is £4 per event. A swimmer entering ALL the events they are eligible for will pay £18 (eligible for six events) or £28 (eligible for ten events). These discounted rates are to encourage swimmers to enter ALL the events they can and ONLY apply to those swimmers. The one exception to this is the under 12 yrs swimmers entering 100m single stroke events, who can pay £18 + the cost of 100m events entered, or £28, whichever works out cheaper.

9. ALL ASA category 2 members (and younger ASA category 1 members) of KASC are encouraged to enter at least two events in the Championships. Masters swimmers are welcome to enter any event with a 14 yrs+ age category, and are particularly encouraged to enter the Masters’ 50m freestyle event.

10. In the unlikely event that the meet is over-subscribed, the slowest entries in each age group for each event will be scratched, with no swimmer being scratched from more than one event. Swimmers entering one or two events will not be scratched.
